First off, I would like to start out with saying that I am grateful, and appreciate the information that this site has given me access to. I learned everything that I needed to know from here-where it was easily accessible. For that I thank all of you that have contributed to this place. My journey would have been much harder without you all.

So I attempted a Acacia Confusa root bark extraction. Over all my yield was low (~1.5g/150g bark), but it was a great introduction to this amazing substance. I have a few pictures that a friend took I will upload and post somewhere in this thread. Okay, trying to get my head together-it's still in awe at what I saw last night.


So I used Cybs hybrid salt tek- without the re-x. I was not able to get crystals out of it like I wanted and this is why I am here today.

I used 100g of acrb
400ml distilled water
100ml vinegar
100g caustic soda
60g of salt non-iodized
and way to much naphtha

I followed his steps pretty much to the tee minus the heat baths. I just put them in hot tap water(water heater is set to 165f) in the sink as I have read that heating causes more fats and such to leach into the naphtha. I will sacrifice yield for quality any day. I also only let it soak for a hour for the acid bath(first time- I wanted to try it. So I rushed it a bit.) Added the lye, and then added naphtha after about half a hour.

For my pulls, I stirred and let it completely separate about five or six times. My naphtha turned a yellow almost green color. Think watered down mountain dew color. I then let them "freeze precipitate" by in the freezer (~6 hours)- I also tried dry ice(30 minutes). The best I got out of this was stuff floating around in the solution. I let that settle and then strained off as much naphtha as I could and then let the rest evap in front of a fan. This left me with a light color tan and some darker brownish goo.

The lighter color seems to last longer- with a lesser effect. Seems different than my very first pull. I hit it and legit felt like I was on a roller coaster. Not to much visual effects as it just made me feel "pumped". Hard to explain pretty sure this is the NMT in the bark. I will be doing more research into it, and will probably join in a few discussions on here as well.

So I came here to find some answers and to get constructive criticism to improve my quality for the next batch.

Does it sound like I did the tek about right? Any tweaks I can make where I did the totally wrong thing?

How can I improve my naphtha pulls?

Best way to get crystals out of acrb? (I have researched and have not found anything that seems to differ from other teks-nothing special to do to prevent the goo.) Now that I type this, what is the best defatting process to use for this source?

Should I evap all of my naphtha to retrieve all of the dmt?

Is it worth my trouble to try and clean the naphtha?

Is there a better way to get pure dmt- white powder? Something a little easier to handle.

And while I have all of the supplies handy- Is there anything that you guys would like me to document? I was thinking about making a tutorial for the machine as I had a hard time figuring that one out- the one I found on here needs new/higher quality pictures. I have a fancy phone with those 4k cameras on it. Let me know if there is anything I can document.

I am pretty sure that I will come up with many more questions after I hit submit. But that is for a later time now.

You got 1.5...That's reasonable for low grade bark.

ACRB is very variable...only top notch bark will yield you more. Your bark maybe lacking.

Don't over heat...use less solvent for pulling and freeze properly. Also 400ml water is not enough...follow the recipe. Crystals are not always the end game.

Mimosa is way better but much more illusive.

When should I stop doing pulls? Will there come a time when I get nothing from a freeze precipitate?

And what is the chemistry behind adding more water? Just to dilute everything, or to change the ph?

Stop doing pulls when your getting anbsolutely nothing out of the pulls, or at the very least a negligible amount.

400ml rather than 750ml makes for a very thick mixture & it's hard for the bark solution to separate from the solvent well. Some may be getting trapped, it may be preventing you from getting the most with each pull, etc.

If you follow cybs tek exactly you already know your bark stash is good, you should be able to get everything out of your bark relatively quickly.

If you end up with a gooey or oily product you can clean it up & get crystals.
