Is it safe to extract from acacia with lichens on it?

Theres some white growth on my confusa pieces that can be scraped off. It seems to be some kind of lichen or moss. I Don't think it's mold.

It will be quite a while before i get to use the bark, but i'd not want to add any unwanted contaminants into my future extractions.

"Inner Root Bark is simply the bark covering the roots of an Acacia tree" . It is actually outer bark. Lichen likes it . Me too Smile
The heart root wood is devoid of indoles of interest.
