Greetings all, I wanted to let the DMT community know about an exciting teleseminar event from Daniel Pinchbeck's websites Reality Sandwich and Evolver. These are basically a series of telephone interviews set up like conference calls, conducted by a host with guests from the psychedelic/visionary art world. After the interview, as an "audience" participant you can ask questions and interact with the guests. The upcoming series is called "Evolver Intensives: Forging Community Through Visionary Art." I've enjoyed reading his first book, breaking open the head. The second one, "2012 the return of..." left me with a dizzy head. So much incoherent stuff thrown together. I've also came to the conclusion, that pinchbeck is really into a certain kind of "lifestyle"...but I wouldn't go so far to call him a fraud.

Had he more quickly realized just who they were,he would have shown them more respect.Had he tried harder to fathom their brilliant minds,he would have taken more of their teachings to heart.Had he more clearly understood the purpose of their being,

Quite enjoyed the first book- although didn't seem to me to amount to much more than moderately skillfull hack journalism- hated the second. Seems to me he's found a niche market to harvest £££$$$. The Colin Wilson of the modern psychedelic movement. mistakes were made

Haven't read the first, the second really means a lot to me, I have been on a very very similar journey. Thanks for bring this to our attention, even if some people are ungrateful. I though Pinchbeck's first book was very good. The second a major let down.
I was particularly disappointed with the way he completely dismissed the circlemakers claims that all crop circles are man made while swallowing the so called "experts" nonsense as this supported this own 2012 hypothesis. Its been proven time and again that the crop circle experts have no way of determining if a circle is man made or not as there are lots of cases of them proclaiming that a formation is the "genuine" article when in fact is was man made and there is film/photographic evidence to support this. If he'd done a little more research into the subject he would have found this out and then perhaps would have been a little less dismissive of the human circlemakers claims.

Im actually half way through 2012 atm. Im really enjoying it, though he seems to use big words just for the sake of using big words imo. Ill have to check out breaking open the head if folks think its better than 2012, should be a good 'un!
Talking about the cropcircles, do you think their all man made then wikiwahwah? I dont know much about the subject tbh but in 2012 hes out looking for them and they come across some and he says its blatently obvious that the one they found was man made, ive seen some on tv and they were man made and it was pretty obvious, they just dont look as cool or precise.

I think all the circles are man made - I've made a number myself. There maybe a few very simple circles created by the wind that started the whole thing off, but anything more complex than this is the work of humans. However, the motivation behind there creation is another matter entirely. I made a number of them in the UK for over 10 years and still can't fathom why I felt compelled to expend such energy on something that I would then go out of my way to deny I had anything to do with! There does seem to be a compulsion to create something that others regard as mysterious and inexplicable. W
