I haven't had a thorough read of this yet but the latest issue of The Psychologist freely available at the link above has a number of articles about psychedelics.
Page 658 has an article by David Nutt about the use of hallucinogens in research and therapy.
Page 662 is about how hallucinogens work on the brain
Page 666 covers what we could learn from other cultures use of hallucinogens
Page 670 is about HPPD
Page 676 has an article on psilocybin to alleviate cancer anxiety including the experiences of a participant
Page 680 is a summary of various writers influenced by hallucinogens, Huxley, Burroughs etc
