all you do is heat the nail till it gets red hot, wait a few seconds for the nail to cool a little then drop your dose onto the nail while inhaling. there are videos on youtube that show how to dab with a nail. the nail shown in the picture is a 18mm male ceramic domeless. oil rigs are better though cause you can put water in them to help get those monster hits. but taking a dab out of the gvg does work.

yes I use the same nail for both. also you can turn most bongs into an oil rig just buy adding a domeless nail.
