Ive seen a few anecdotal reports of ss02 clones being potent but no actual information on anyone actually testing it out.
Can anyone here confirm or deny the potency rumors?

I just purchased a cutting on ebay i plan on making a tea with it for a first cacti experience & rooting a section.

Never tried it but bridgesii are known for consistent potency. That coupled with the fact that it has been used for so many hybridizations tells me it must be a very good one.

I've got no idea, but I've got a nice batch of them growing. I've got bridgesii * SS02 and SS02 * SS01.

Take a few notes on how you prepare (length of cut used & how many doses you get from that length) and let us know how it goes.

Probably just going for a single dose tea lol. Really i need to get a propper id before i chop it up.

It's hard to say with hybrids but it does have that bridgesii look about it. It certainly not a pach or peruvianus.

It looks a bit different to my SS02 * bridgesii but that could just be the result of growing conditions & climate.

I'd say it's a bridgesii or a hybrid for sure.

well bridgesii is a good sign. Hoping i didnt get drop shipped some crap cacti from a seller with a not so great reputation

The seller said he does not know the mother plants origin but that he got a cutting from a good friend with a direct connection to kk. May or may not be a real ss02.

Ill make sure to write up a report complete with notes on preperation methods. Im anxious to see if this collectors cacti is legit. Hes apparently has quite a collection of named clones hes been selling off cuttings from & id like to start a garden with only the most potent specimens of course

I haven't tried it, but from what I've read it sounds like it's significantly better than PC pachanoi at least.

I'm not sure the SS02 is from Knize, though I may be totally wrong about that. Anyway, what you bought looks bridgesoid, so may well be genuine. Save a few inches to root so you have more in the future if it ends up being decent.

That looks like legit bridgesii to me. Nice thick stem cut too from the looks of it. That should be some real good medicine.

Ya i assumed it was from ss. I wanted to know if the mother plant was grown from seed or from a cutting purchased thru ss to give me a better idea of how potent/good the genetic material that this cutting originally came from was but no such luck.
The collector seems like a cool dude from what little interaction ive had with him so far tho.

this will be rooted for sure. Ive been looking to get into cacti but havnt had the chance to start.

I'm pretty sure you can get it straight from SS if you're worried about getting the mother plant - just ask them for their full tricho list. But I think I've seen this vendor and they seem to have some nice stuff - I almost pulled the trigger on one but I'm out of space for cacti at the moment...

Ya ive been meaning to get an ss catalog for a couple weeks. All ive seen on their website is ss02 crosses & i was looking for a plain ss02.
