Vomiting blood and delusion after ingestion of Freebase DMT Options

Ok, so my dog is a bit of a space cadet, having ingested a multitude of substances over many years, including dozens of experiences with DMT and Ayahuasca.

Yesterday afternoon between 3-4pm he ingested around 150mg of Freebase DMT, along with Moclobemide as an activator, in hopes of achieving a Pharmahuasca-like experience. Minimal to no hallucinations during experience, just an overall peaceful feeling. This came to an abrupt halt somewhere between 8-9pm, when he all of a sudden felt very light headed, like as though he had very low blood pressure. Not long after this he was feeling very full - odd, as he had been fasting that day in preparation for the ceremony. This full feeling led to him soon making the mad dash to the toilet and to his horror found himself spewing up a full stomach load of fresh, bright red, undiluted blood! A very light head was experienced and he knew he was going to pass out very soon, so he attempted to return to the couch in the living room (in the next room). He fainted on the way there, however upon waking he realized he had been heading in the opposite direction to the couch! He laid on the floor for a while in an attempt to regain composure, after which he literally crawled to the couch where he lay for the rest of the night, unable to sleep. There is more to the story, however they are mere details of delusional behaviour.

My question is this: What would have made him vomit up so much blood and why was he so delusional? If he only vomited the once and has since regained composure, is there anything medical to worry about?

Note: at no time during or after was there pain in his stomach...

That sounds nasty have you tried that combination before? Was it stomach.lining type blood? Stringy?
A guess is it couldve been the causticness of the freebase, go and get a checkup
Did you take both together on a completely empty stomach? Wouldve been harsh on an empty stomach.
The delusion is surely the psychoactive effects,150mg dmt freebase is a large dose how much moclo did you take?

The dose of moclobemide was not mentioned.
Really the effects sound like an adverse reaction to the moclobemide.
On an empty stomach, freebase DMT could be quite harsh?
Lemon or orange juice might have helped in that respect.
Leaving it at that, it sounds a bit peculiar...

“There is a way of manipulating matter and energy so as to produce what modern scientists call 'a field of force'. The field acts on the observer and puts him in a privileged position vis-à-vis the universe. From this position he has access to the realities which are ordinarily hidden from us by time and space, matter and energy. This is what we call the Great Work."

600mg Moclobemide about 1hr prior to DMT ingestion.

Moclobemide has been used to potentiate many journeys and was taken at this amount for months for therapeutic benefits, as well as prescribed to enhance dexamphetamine.

It was found to be detrimental when used in conjunction with LSD - Killed a blast off trip dead in under 20 mins!

It is therefore solely the DMT in question...

Stop Go to Hospital!...Could be anything and sounds potentially very nasty.
What if you're bleeding out right now?
This site can't hand out Medical advice.
It is unlikely to be freebase related.
Please do not PM tek related questions

Yeah, bummer. He was really hoping to avoid the whole hospital route...

If there is no pain, and no sign of blood or feeling sick or light headed, then does he still really have to worry?

Also, what does he tell the doc's? He can't just waltz in proclaiming ingestion of a Class A and expect to walk away without first having to deal with law enforcement...

seek medical help immediately

it could be a stomach ulcer or something more serious , i clearly have no idea
if you're bleeding right now , that can be really dangerous

its difficult to judge internal bleeding , thus seek medical help
illusions !, there are no illusions
there is only that which is the truth

I would get it checked out, You don't have to tell them you took DMT, Just that you felt unwell and vomited blood. Like others state, there could be a ulcer of sorts and although no pain, could develop further.

Hope it all goes well. take care

Might take him up in a few hours.

Research points very directly to an endoscopy procedure for upper GI tract bleeding and one is required to fast 6-8 hrs prior to the procedure.

The big question now is this: what does he tell them up at the hospital? He really doesn't want to attract any attention from authorities...

Go and get yourself checked out man without a doubt, this is your health and safety at stake, and this is a highly atypical reaction. You don't have to say anything about drug ingestion, just that you vomited blood and fainted, this is too important to ignore. I've had several past moclobemide + freebase DMT sessions at this dose in the past, and they were without health issues...although my last experience was very harrowing indeed and I came to quite despise moclobemide, I find it doesn't provide any guiding or grounding influence like the plants do which I MUCH prefer. I wouldn't bother with moclobemide again, personally.

May I ask why you are dosing so incredibly high with it?? 150 mg should be more than ample for MAO inhibition, any more is overkill and could be imposing more of a strain on your system than is necessary.

I would for sure mention the Moclobemide. If I knew and trusted the doctor I would also mention the DMT. Random ER personnel, it is up to you. I can only say that for sure I would go immediately to the ER and for sure would mention the Moclobemide.

Please keep us posted. . . .

If you haven't gone yet, be sure to have a friend do the driving for you. Fainting again while behind the wheel would be rather unfortunate..

Good luck to you Stop

Doctors said that seeing as he hasn't had any more adverse reactions and appears "normal" (and has done for well over 24 hrs) chances are that all is well. In 2-3 days, his stool is going to appear a black, slimy mess - this is the blood that wasn't spewed out. If this blood persists in his stool for more than 3 days, he is to return for further investigation.

He told them about everything that was ingested and the timeline. Apparently the ER Doctors are more concerned about a patient's health than what they have taken and reporting that to police - only reporting to police if a person appears aggressive or a danger to themselves or society or what not.

They do not believe the Moclobomide had anything to do with the episode, however are unsure as to why the reaction was had. Later online research hinted that Lye poisoning displays a surprising similarity in regard to adverse reactions...

The Docs simply told him to take it easy and that the site of the bleeding may take up to 6 weeks to completely heal, however 3 weeks is to be expected.

When eating: avoid spicy foods and alcohol and eat light - like what one's Mum used to feed them when they were sick as kids - you know, slice of bread, cup of soup (luke warm), avoid caffeine and cigarettes ( Crying or very sad ) and stay well hydrated.

Thanks for the swift replies everyone.

If one retches violently at the time of vomiting its possible to tear the distal part of the esophagus, known as a Mallory Weiss tear. Typically this is not associated with preceding symptoms such as heartburn/indigestion/weight loss/problems swallowing but does produce fresh blood.

Avoid alcholol, anti-inflammatories, tobacco smoke and see what happens; if you have no other health problems especially liver issues and remain symptom free with no worrying features on blood tests then a gastroscopy may not be required.

Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.
