Is Extensive LSD Experience Sufficient Preparation for a Solo Ayahuasca Experience? Options

Hi.

I'm finding difficulty meeting an experienced Ayahuasca user in my area, and I am therefore considering having an Ayahuasca experience without a sitter.

With LSD, I am perfectly capable of sitting down (in lotus position), controlling my breathing, and surrendering to the experience and learning from it no matter how intense or frightening. I have never done anything bad or harmful even during nightmare trips with excessive doses.

I'd love to hear from seekers who experienced Ayahuasca for the first time without a sitter so I may judge for myself if I'll be ok, or if I'm getting in over my head. Please share your experience with me.

Love.

to me there is a big difference between the 2, Acid has never taken me anywhere near the places I have been with Aya, not even close.

I'm sure that if I took a ridiculous dose of Acid then it would do the business but I would say that my Acid experiences didn't really prepare me for Aya.

If I was you I would just crack on with the Aya, start low and work your way up and you should be fine without a sitter. I have never had a sitter and found that the bottom up strategy was very effective.

good luck and let us now how it goesThumbs up

The only thing that can prepare you for Aya, is Aya. Seriously, its in a league of its own. You'll be fine as long as you dose sensibly.

I found my LSD experience harder. Just goes to show that all ...well kinda depends. On what? Well, this and that...and then some, you know ? Ayahuasca got this mystical aura around. Can be the enemy of the solitary drinker. I'd just try it. 30-50g properly brewed (dont decant after you have reduced the brew. Go small on the dmt...i'd even go so far as to suggest only a very small amount, perhaps 10mg.

If you don't feel comfortable doing it alone then I would suggest not just "going for it."
Aya is in a league of its own but like any psychedelic bad things can happen. I remember seeing on the news that a man ripped off part of his penis when he was high on mushrooms. But if you can't find someone who is experienced you can do the work your way up method or have a good friend watch over you. They may not be able to chant icaros and blow sage around but can stop you from ripping part of your penis off.

A big difference between ayahuasca and other psychedelics in general is the added harmala alkaloids.

You could try first what a caapi or rue brew or extracted harmalas feels like by itself.

Then you could combine the MAOI with a low dose of lsd, to probe how a known substance/experience is modulated by the MAOI. Be prepared for a stronger and longer effect, but also a different quality of the experience.

Regarding ayahuasca: as said above, start with enough harmala, but just a little dmt (25 mg is a good start IMHO). Over the course of a few sessions, calmly build up the dmt and feel your own way about. If you want to raise the amount of dmt in the same session, you'll need to ingest it with more harmala, or else the dmt doesn't pass the gut.

You'll be fine. IMHO dmt is the most gentle psychedelic. I don't think you're going to do anything "funny" or newspaperworthy at all. At most, you'll be overwhelmed and want to lay down. Make sure the setting is safe, ie. no unwanted intrusions from outside, nothing potentially requiring immediate attention halfway the trip. Enjoy the ride!

I've done a lot of both and to be honest I'm more timid before taking a big dose of LSD than aya for some reason. I'm not sure if anything can ever truly prepare one for these things but previous psychedelic experiences and especially high doses in meditation can definitely help. Many also don't realize that you can have a breakthrough type experience on LSD but that's sort of off topic

IMO if you can deal with high doses of LSD and mushrooms alone and in an introspective context, then you can start building a relationship with dmt/harmala containing plants without a sitter.

<Ringworm>hehehe, it's all fun and games till someone loses an "I"

The best preperation for ayahuasca is mushrooms. Mushrooms in large doses can prepare you for ayahuasca in large doses IME. I dont find ayahuasca more powerful necessarily than mushrooms. I actually need more preperation for mushrooms mentally.
