Acacia Confusa Brew (no MAOI) Options

So I've heard from different sources online that making a brew with just acacia can have psychoactive properties within itself. I got 5 tbsp of powdered root bark and 400 ml of water and some vinegar and boiled for about an hour. I strained the liquid out and was left with under 100 ml of dark reddish liquid. Drank up and it's been over an hour and I only feel slightly buzzed, which I'm assuming to just be placebo. But from what I've read, 5 tbsp should be more than enough to do the trick. Does anyone else have first hand experience of brewing acacia confusa, ayahuasca style with no MAOI? Or are these stories I've heard complete bull shit?

Everything I've seen in regards to Acacia being active on it's own has been brewed teas where the material has been allowed to steep in sub-boiling water, or even cold water. I tried to do it with my last batch but just couldn't stand the tannins, as in I couldn't even force myself to drink it. It ended up getting tossed into the extraction batch.

its generally the phyllodes that contain b-carbolines and other alkaloids that have MAOI like effect, I believe.
surely you could just get your hand on a little rue to use with your ACRB?
