My friend has just brewed some ayahuasca, but wants to get some sleep (8 hours) before reducing it. Unfortunately, he has no fridge/freezer to store it in. Would it be safe for him to store the unreduced ayahuasca in a sealed container at room temperature for eight hours? What is the shelf life of unreduced and reduced ayahuasca at room temperature? Thank you for your time and help. '"ALAS,"said the mouse, "the world is growing smaller every day. At the beginning it was so big that I was afraid, I kept running and running, and I was glad when at last I saw walls far away to the right and left, but these long walls have narrowed so quickly that I am in the last chamber already, and there in the corner stands the trap that I must run into." I am pretty sure you can keep the unreduced aya in a sealed container at roomtemp for 8 hours, without risking your health.

Even if there were any bacteria to grow in your brew, reducing the brew later would almost certainly kill most of them.

Ayahuasca can be stored for weeks, months on end with no loss in potency. There is a risk of mold starting to grow. Some people advise to just rebrew the stuff but i'm not certain to what degree that helps kill off the mold. If you are brewing with vinegar, don't gorget that it might act as a preservative. 8 hours is definatly no problem.
