Just wanted to say hi to all happy souls here. I have been lurking on and off over the years, and today felt like the right time to sign up for an account and join the community. I have a keen interest in psychedelics as well as the fostering of safe and positive psychedelic use. Psychedelic care is also intriguing to me, as is critical thought + journeying. Been appreciating the supportive atmosphere here for a while. Still a student in so many ways. Digging on the helpful teks available—SWIM might try their hand at one soon. Thank you all for having me.

Welcome, vivacia! I'm curious as to what you mean when you say "psychedelic care"? Do you mean like therapeutic use of psychedelics?

Hey Entheogenerator--(for some reason I thought I'd get a ping in my email if there are follow up comments on my threads...but I didn't get any notifications. Sorry for the late reply!)

And yes, I am interested in the therapeutic uses of psychedelic care, as well as psychedelic harm reduction (ie, autonomous+self aware use of psychedelics, or care teams at festivals/events that work with people on recalibrating bad trips, etc). So far a lot of my interest are purely personal though. I have worked informally with some people in the past on compiling case studies and manuals for psychedelic harm reduction, but I do strongly believe in the medicinal and therapeutic element of psychedelic use.

What are some of your experiences?

Hi vivacia -

I, too, am interested in the therapeutic uses of psychedelic substances, and hope to be an instrumental part of hallucinogens being accepted as therapy for end-of-life care. Currently much of the research seems to focus on PTSD and addictive disorders, but I would like to be a part of a national dialogue regarding end-of-life experiences.

As a future nurse, I firmly believe psychedelics can have therapeutic uses. Do you know of an organization called MAPS? They have a Harm Reduction Coordinator (Linnae PontéPleased who you may want to get in touch with as it seems like you two may have similar ideas.
