Hello. Theoretically, If I wanted to do an acid base extraction on Hawaiian baby woodrose seeds, would the following procedure work?
1. Grind the seeds and do three washes on them with a mixture of vinegar and distilled water not using heat and letting each wash soak for like three hours.
2. Filter out all of the solids then add a base to the solution, probably sodium carbonate.
3. The use a mixture of MEK and heptane to wash the solution and repeat this like 4 or 5 times
4. Collect all of the MEK and heptane and let it evaporate.
5. Collect whatever the evaporated solvent left behind
Would that yield all of the alkaloids from the plant while keeping loss of them low? I've seen a few of erowid's extraction links but it seems easier to me to do an acid base extraction. Does it make sense that this would work to get a rather pure extract of hbwr?
i know i can just eat them, they are nice that way too. extraction would be cool though.
