Why doesn't the dmt in changa pyrolize with a flame like it does with freebase? Options

Hi all,
I've searched the forums but can't find anything about why flaming Changa doesn't pyrolize the dmt like it does with pure freebase. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!

I have no extreme idea on this topic so my words may be misleading but I feel that since it's dissolved into the leaf then it just evaporates into the smoke when you burn the leaf.

I`m sure it does pyrolize some DMT when smoking changa too. Maybe the slowly moving amber will facilitate more vaporization vs combustion, but that`s just one possibility.

Personally I find smoking DMT in any way, including changa, too harsh on my lungs and throat. Vaporization is much better imo.

I think the herb works as a temperature (cloaking) retardant, like a temperature buffer, unable to change temp as fast as when no herb is used. The herb cannot be burned all at once, it has/needs some time for temperature propagation. This giving a larger time frame margin for the spice to evaporate rather than to burn immediately.
So even when a flame surrounds the herb, the spice inside the herb being temperature-isolated (to a degree) for at least an instant. Just an idea.

I would argue and say that changa or enhanced leaf does burn quite the same, depending on the ratio of DMT to leaf mix.
I've found that on my 2:1 spice to herb enhanced leaf, it is quite easy for the spice to flame up, and when that happens I get the same horrid taste of burnt freebase spice.
I usually use 1:1 and cover the dose in peppermint which keeps some of the direct heat off the spice. Lightly cherry and milk that bad boy up, one 40 mg rip of 1:1 and it's sayonara reality. Cool
