I know that heat ..light and time.. can do bad things to crystal or freebase dmt by making it turn dark and cause potency loss.. After doing extractions several times now ..i got this idea of just storing the dmt rich napatha in air tight jar.. and just labling it ..[solvent for cleaning paint brushes]..to disguise it for security reasons.. I know heat and time can degrade the dmt in freebase or crystal form . So how long can dmt suspended in napatha be stored? When dmt is suspended in napatha .. is it protected from heat better than in freebase or crystal form?..[or will it still degrade in napatha?/ If it could last much longer that way?... one could easily just pipette out just enough to freeze precepatate or evaporate when needed.. and keep the rest in storage for a long time without worrying about it going bad or being found in ice box by the wrong person? Can this idea work?

I live in a very dry climate, but I have had a few hundred milligrams of freebase from my last mimosa extraction stored in a dark place for well over a year, and it has not changed in appearance or potency to any noticeable degree. I would imagine being stored in solvent would probably increase the shelf-life even more, but I don't know if this is a fact or not. Using NP solvent to store freebase in would probably not be necessary unless you are planning on storing it for a really long time. But I do like the idea of having a completely inconspicuous jar of paint thinner stored in the garage next to some paints and brushes...

There have been quite a few posts with this same question popping up.. I remember there being several replies from some of the more "seasoned" members that storing it long term in naptha would degrade the molecule and is something you probably wouldn't want to do over other storage methods. From everything I've read, converting it to fumarate and then storing in dark/airtight container is best. I store my freebase chrystals in little bundles consisting of wax paper rapped in tin foil and then sealed with a clear packing tape sandwich (makes it very air tight) I then keep that in the freezer. It has stored over a year and a half with no loss in potency whatsoever. If you keep it in the freezer, make sure to let it warm to room temp before exposin it to air otherwise it may et condensation. Moral of the story: no on the naptha storage Good luck! -*O* You can't do anything about yesterday, but you can do everything with tomorrow.

I'm no expert here, but have read many a posts and storing in any solvent is going to degrade the molecule faster than the other said methods. Fumarate. Crystals in dark, cool air dry. I will try and dig up some related posts later and link them. How long are you wanting to store it? If a couple years will cut it, then doing what I did will work fine. Solvents are for getting the spice out of the base and then into a fb/salt .. they are just a vessel. You can't do anything about yesterday, but you can do everything with tomorrow.

i believe an analysis was done on DMT left out in heat and sunlight until drastic color change was apparent, and it was found that minimal amounts of the DMT had actually degraded into n-oxide. i could be wrong on that, but i am almost sure i heard that somewhere in this forum.. i could be wrong on that, but i am almost sure i heard that somewhere in this forum.. That sounds very familiar, I think I read that as well.

i've left small amounts out in a dish exposed to air until it has turned pretty yellow in color. No noticeable loss of potency. I have noticed what seems like a slight change in character of the experience but certainly wouldn't call it degradation. I would like to see some scientific answers to this questions. Anymore i just do small extractions and only keep enough on hand for my immediate purposes but I can see the benefit of just extracting everything and storing until it is needed. I think Q21Q21 stored or used to store in vinegar but i'm not sure for how long or indeed if I imagined that.
