In Kentuky, DMT = Bathsalts Options

Another DMT lab busted.
I feel like the media is toning up their rhetoric. Now DMT is 'like bathsalts' and explosive?

Quote:
There was a frightening discovery in a Lexington neighborhood Wednesday afternoon. A handyman walked into a vacant home on Tulane Drive and found the potentially explosive drug, DMT, being made.

Wednesday night three young men, 18 year old John Long, 20 year old Shaun Ebner, and 22 year old Jonathan Grant were arrested for trafficking drugs, and growing marijuana.

"It makes me really nervous and really shocked," said Tony Loyd who lives nearby.

"Thank god nothing blew up, and that's how we found out about it," said Deb Schauberger who lives on Tulan Drive.

Many neighbors like Loyd and Schauberger are still coming to terms with what could have happened, after dangerous drugs were being made feet away.

Just after 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday the handyman found dimethyltryptamine, DMT, in a vacant house. It is a drug Lexington Police said is similar to bath salts, and they descrbe as being made in a similar fashion as methamphetamine.

The handyman called police thinking he spotted a meth lab, later to find out DMT is just as dangerous.

"Anytime you add chemicals to a container they weren't intended to and you put that container under pressure you have the danger of explosion," said Lt. Scott Blakely with the Lexington Police Department.

Police were able to track down the drugs to the house next door, where the three young men under arrest were living. Long, Ebner, and Grant are all behind bars accused of making the drugs, along with growing marijuana at their home.

Now neighbors are counting their blessings that no one was hurt. They hope this is both the first and last time something like this happens.

"I hope that they get the help that they need and I do hope they are not allowed to come back into the neighborhood," said Schauberger.

Police have taken the drugs from the homes, but said the houses will have to be professionally cleaned for safety reasons.

Blessings

Thats pretty pathetic, at least on that site you sourced this from people are letting it be known this is wrong information.

I don't hate much, but I do hate the popular media.

They could have also thrown 'radioactive´ in there just for the sake of it.

Maybe that's why mimosa is so good for making soap?

That has to be the most unfactual sentence i've heard in a while. The journalist that published that pile of crap should just quit. There was no fact checking done here.

It's amazing how low the standards of intelligence/competence are for law enforcement officials both locally, state, and federally. Then you look at how much they get paid......and thats where i facepalm hardest.

"let those who have talked to the elves, find each other and band together" -TMK

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

It's things like this I wish we, as a community, could go after to set the record straight.

Dangerous drugs, BAH.

I hope that most people are smart enough to see through this BS. Even so, I wish there were a way to counter such misinformation. A little bit of my faith in humanity is restored after reading the comments.

I just recently returned from Lexington, TN about a month ago. I have family that lives in the area. It doesn't surprise me that the cops thought it was as dangerous as meth; the anti-drug community is pretty strong up there, even amongst the youth. My sister's friends (who all drink and eat painkillers) found it shocking that I smoked pot and ate LSD and other hallucinogens. If it doesn't come in a bottle (pills, alcohol) they believe it's the devil.
