Hmm... The pedant in me would say that gal and girl are the same word. I will not derail this thread with a rant on the relationship between "political correctness gone wrong" and "linguistic fascism", as i both respect the OP and Pandora"s desire to be seen as old. Moreso than my desire to rant at the present moment. Instead i will join in with the love-in.
