Hi all - This is a variation of a post I just made in the d-limonene extraction tek thread. I was gonna try a petroleum-based solvent tek but the limonene tek seems much better, esp as I would be pissing off people I live with with nasty fumes, and I prefer the more eco / non-toxic approach. I am a total noob to this, have had some recent experience with Ayahuasca and would like to try creating smokeable DMT, prob in the form of enhanced leaf. I'm not that interested in the oral ingestion method at the moment as I am quite happy with traditional Ayahuasca brews. I've also been reading about the FASA tek that also seems less toxic and fairly straightforward, and esp good as it initially creates long-lasting DMT fumerate salt. I would like advice from experienced explorers which tek would be best to go with first. My advice would be not the FASA, but a dry STB. Basically, 69ron's mescaline tek using limonene and store bought calcium hydroxide, but using DMT containing material instead of cacti. Obviously some ratios would have to be changed.

SWIM has had good experiences with FASA, getting yields comparable to when he used STB with roughly the same effort and with less toxicity. For a variety of reasons, he doesn't use his DMT very frequently, so the extra stability of the fumarate is a big selling point to him also.
Make sure if SWIY uses FASA he/she dries his acetone before usage. On can do this by ,first, drying epsom salts in the oven at 400 F for an hour or two. Buy hardware store acetone, then add enough dried epsom salts to the container until the epsom salt no longer looks clumpy when added. Shake thoroughly. From then on, whenever you need dry acetone, just pull from the container with a glass turkey baster or other similar device.
Note that even though acetone is safer, one still doesn't really want to be inhaling its fumes, so make sure the place is well ventilated when using it.

PURE ACETONE 99.5% NAIL POLISH REMOVER has been ordered... hoping that is good enough. Would Epsom bath salts with some oils be ok, or has to be pure? Would the drying be enough? Just wanted to update - SWIM is currently in the process of filtering his citric-acid saturated acetone extract... his supply of powdered MRHB arrived earlier this afternoon, so he got straight to work! :-) Limonene supply has also been found, so SWIM will be trying that in the next round. Walmart sells "100% acetone" in their cosmetics section (along with "regular" nail polish remover). Priced at slightly less than $2/16oz., last time I checked.

Im all for the purest extraction tek possible.Though i havnt tried limonene yet.(Where is a pure source?)
I just wanted to say that in my experience the stantard STB method has been fine.It is clean and smooth and dosnt even kill grass when poured out.
People used to wash clothes with lye, and there should only be trace amounts of Naptha.By the way old school farmers used to use Naptha to kill weeds (not that its EF).
Im not saying we shouldnt find a better way ,but is STB that bad?
What are your thoughts?
