*Sigh*

I'm glad they're testing them out for cross-contamination. I've never heard of mushrooms causing that level of impairment, in any dose. Maybe if he ate 10-12 grams of the things, then it MIGHT be reasonable, but it seems more likely that his dealer, or some dealer, somewhere along the line, dusted them with something to give them a little extra kick.

Either that, or they weren't psilocybin mushrooms at all, but some other fungus with some other kind of psychoactive deliriant. Do such things exist?

Blessings

Ugh.

Even on high dose mushrooms, this is unimaginable to me. The coordination alone to *manually* mutilate your own genitals... suspicious.

Reeks far more of bath salts / pcp / wet. Though he claims to have just eaten a fungus.

Wasn't there, cant say. Thanks for the negative publicity, and I hope your genitals feel better.

Guys i would take this with a very large pinch of salt. This is a link via the Sun newspaper which is a tabloid rag that makes a point of not letting the truth get in the way of a good story.

Everyone reacts different. But first and foremost, this is the SUN, so it's not even worth thinking about. It's nothing more than a rag.

Its actually not that surprising to me that people are capable of horrific things on mushrooms (cough ancient mesoamericans cough), especially if they mix a high dose of mushrooms with other drugs. Mushrooms can be incredibly gnarly...the hyper-suggestability people have while in a heavily delusional and psychotic state (which i've reached and seen others reach through a high dose of mushrooms mixed with cannabis in a bad set/setting) can leave a lot of horrible outcomes possible

But like others said it is good to take it with a grain of salt, especially since afterall it is the sun

The story is getting to be quite popular.
Saw it pop up on Reason. Mag.

It's got all the makings of a perfect news story: anti-drug message, bizarre behavior, and a chance to use the word 'penis' in public.

The number of times I have fallen short of loppin' off the old lyzzurd on a healthy dose... Ahhh, if I had a dollar... (and yes, pun intended)

JBArk
JBArk is a Mandelthought; a non-fiction character in a drama of his own design he calls "LIFE" who partakes in consciousness expanding activities and substances; he should in no way be confused with SWIM, who is an eminently data-mineable and prolific character who has somehow convinced himself the target he wears on his forehead is actually a shield.

So some pervert got high, then high became frisky, frisky took advantage of a large Dog, end of genitals. "It was them drugs that made me do it!!! There was no Dog!!!"

We all know if I drink a barrel of ale, get naked, then hang my balls over an electric fence? Yeah we all know who's responsible.

The Fence!!!

In all seriousnessness...ness. A copy of the Sun costs 30 pence, whereas a regular more informed newspaper costs around £1.20

£1.20 - Real journalists

=

30p.

End of.

It really does not surprise me that somewhere on earth some guy took mushrooms and ripped his dick off. This is a big world with lots of people bound to happen somewhere. People do equally stupid things while "sober"..and worse things while drunk. Some people are just crazy. Some people will go out and try to eat 40g of dry cubensis..I dont know..I dont know how much this guy ate etc.
Long live the unwoke.

Article was pretty vague. He could have damaged his privates while climbing through broken glass or something. I think they just went with a sensationalistic spin without having the facts, which appear thin on the ground.

I've injured myself on a very high dose of shrooms, but I assure you all it was entirely accidental. I could easily believe that to be the case here. Much more skeptical about it being intentional.

Would a man doing the same thing under the influence of alcohol make the news?

if the editor thought it would sell a few papers it would.

In the UK there would be an endless amount of drunken stories to pick from, I think because idiotic drunkenness is so prevalent here everyone just laughs it off, "oh drunk frank ripped his knackers off when he was on a bender, he's a crazy one that fella, ha ha ha".

Its a sad state of affairs, I wish the false demonisation would stop but I don't think it ever will.
