Homage to Tim Berners-Lee and his creation of the first web server. At the time all CERN folks had to physically move from computer to computer to access data so he decided to create the standards we know and love today -- Hypertext and the World Wide Web.

"You can see the orginal NeXT computer at the Microcosm exhibit at CERN, still bearing the label, hand-written in red ink: "This machine is a server. DO NOT POWER IT DOWN!!"" [1]

Ahh, the birth of the Web. Where would we be today without it? Smile

It is the oldest known inscription depicting the ceremonial use of San Pedro cactus from the temple of Chavin in Peru. I really want to go there and hope to this winter if I can get some money saved up to go.

The first Egyptian vision I had (before I even knew that Egyptian visions were possible) involved being transported into a gigantic pyramid. There were little men in the background doing whatever it is that men in a DMT pyramid attend to...and then in the foreground there were floating these 3 (may have been 4) holographic Pharaoh sarcophagi. They looked like the King Tut sarcophagus down to the detail and color. They were multidimensional holograms that began folding interdimensionally through each other. The profile of one face would become the front of the other would become the head-dress of the other...all pretty indescribable, but something like that. So I drew a Pharaoh face, then replicated it and layered it over itself to give the crudest representation of what I witnessed.

"The Mighty One appears, the horizon shines. Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead

The Mandelbrot Set:
Probably the most recognized 2D fractal in existence, it is one of the most complex architectures in mathematics.

It means a lot to me, both personally, and is an excelent reminder that math is the architecture of the universe, and that our universe in infinite, beautiful and follows regular, predictable, and ultimately "knowable" patterns.

Mine's a lost Davinci painting that was supposedly bought at a garage sale 50 pounds.

After some investigation it was revealed to be the lost original and it's worth millions. There is still some controversy over its authenticity but the evidence I've seen looks fairly convincing.

The painting is titled Salvator Mundi, which is said to be a depiction of Jesus

In the painting he is said to giving benediction with his right hand but strangely he is holding a crystal ball in his left hand.

To me it looks like he should be holding a joint in the fingers of his right hand almost like he is asking - who's got the pot boys ?
or suggesting for a bit of weed I'll tell your future.

In the picture I chose for my avatar he even looks like he is smashed.

I love the way Leonrdo took the piss from the Catholic church and got paid to for it at the same time time. Many of his commissioned works had pagan symbolism or features.

Mustelid
#16 Posted : 5/22/2013 7:18:04 AM
The Pine Marten is an arboreal mustelid (mustelids are mammals in the weasel family like ferrets, badgers, stoats, and even wolverines) either of European (Martes martes) or American variety (Martes americana).

Pine martens are carnivorous omnivores, hunting voles, mice, and small birds, as well as foraging for fruits and fungi. They are agile climbers and will run up trees to flee larger predators.

It was believed that due to their climbing prowess and predatory nature that pine martens were hunters of squirrels, though recent observations of game wardens and scientists in Alaska seem to show that they climb to evade predators and hunt primarily on the ground. Alaska pine martens have even been observed cohabitating with grey squirrels in Winter months, ostensibly to keep warm.

My avatar is a 2D rendering of the top-view of a Sierpinski triangle fractal that was originally drawn in 3D. Each cardinal direction has its own color.

I've changed mine over the years, but I always end up on this one.

It epitomizes a Salvia vision to me. It includes many of the common features I experience.

The teddy bears as playful elf-like entities. The depiction of the grim reeper, or death. A bus with rows of windows. Green hills with a sunrise/sunset in the distance. Even the flowers which represent the "blooming" effect.

If it included a circus tent it would be absolutely perfect. Smile
