Edit: Due to conversations below, I feel Dancesafe.org has awesome placards available and I will not be pursuing this project.

Hi Everyone,

I have a project in mind and I'd like to assess if people would be interested in helping out.

I'm completely open to suggestions, help with layout, art, anything and everything. Smile

Quote:
With the help of fellow Nexians, I would like to develop a series of placards that each describe a classic psychedelic. Each placard would contain art and information relative to the psychedelic. The placards could be anonymously posted at gatherings such as music festivals. The intent of the project is harm reduction through spreading knowledge.

Potential Topics:
Chemical Name
Common Names
Dosage
Common Effects
How chemical interacts with brain & body
Administration Routes
Contradictions
OD Possible?

Potential Psychedelics to Cover:
DMT
Aya & Analouges
Harmalas
Cacti
Iboga
Mushrooms
LSD

I think these topics would be a good place to start. Can you think of others?

Any suggestions? Concerns? Questions? Comments?

Name for the project?

Interested in Helping? please post about how you would like to contribute.

awww bummer, you have to buy them?

I'm guessing they'd be a little upset if we did an open-source version.

The funding goes to support Dancesafe, they are a non-profit that goes around to raves and festivals and hands these cards out freely, they offer harm reduction information, on site drug testing, water, chill space with knowledgeable volunteers, etc.... All their funding comes from selling reagent test kits and this type of merchandise. Most assuredly a worthy cause.

I somehow don't think they would have a problem with you doing an open source version if you want to do that. This isn't about business or money, it's about harm reduction and safe usage. The moar good information out there the better, especially if its covered in nifty nexian artwork Wink

So I've thought about it a bit more.

I think I'll write a proposal to DanceSafe and see if they'd be interested in donating some of their placards in return for promoting their site, values, and kits.

Barter is better. hehe.

Although, it would be awesome to have Nexian art all over them.

I'm sure you noticed DS's recent interest in DMT:

Reach out.
We all have the same goal here.
(Plus, I'm sure there are a few DS folks wondering the Nexus.)

"MAOIs are contraindicated with a variety of everyday foods and drugs such as soy sauce..."

Not sure if this is really valid, unless one is literaly drinking soy sauce.

I would say better safe then sorry in regards to that. Speaking for myself, if I'm taking anything with harmaline in it, I'm pretty neurotic about what I eat the day before, even though it's a reversible MAOI.

I'm kind of surprised that Dance-Safe is taking interest in DMT at all. It's hardly a club drug. Maybe they're trying to branch out into more general drug safety?

I appreciate the value of safety, but I wouldn't want someone to think "I had soy sauce and was fine, so why not try a bit with my SSRI meds."

Actually these days you'd be hard pressed to find a rave or festival where the scent of indole is not wafting over the crowd. It's definitely out there in the dance community in a big way now.

I would love to participate, but I have no idea on how I can help other than maybe buyimg a little of the cards. I am not to good with art and right now the only thing I know anything about is DMT and even with that, I am not am expert.
Good luck and as always Happy Travels
