For some time I've been a fan, and I can tell a lot of their work is inspired by DMT, but this one is a dead giveaway for me that they have a great ability to convey their experiences into music:

good question.

it is a distinct possibility, however for now it is assumed that simon posford is just a demi-god at audio recreation.

Shpongle has some pretty dead-on accurate re-creations of hyper space I would agree.

I truly do think that the the human brain is that machine and I speculate that people have been expressing eloquently with music what could never be expressed using words alone since the dawning of humanity.

I would like to believe that one of the original purposes of music was to perfectly communicate the landscape of what we call hyperspace and I hope that this is something we as a species will continue to do well into the future.

The fun thing about trying to musically re-create hyperspace is that, the possibilities seem to be unlimited and also don't appear to be in any way defined by the restraints of ordinary imagination.Big grin

DMT invented Shpongle to mess with our ears on this reality shard.

Yes not only do they attempt to recreate the experience mathematically by carefully choosing what chord structures and notes are used, but they also include samples of them smoking dmt into their songs which really puts you into the experience.

I enjoyed Shpongle before trying DMT, and I REALLY enjoyed Shpongle after smoalking DMT.

New Shpongle album out in August. Here is an article and Raja Ram explains how he talks about shapes and such in the studio and Simon tries to put them into music. Quite a creative engine those two have.

Australian Arts Newspaper with Shpongle Article on page 1
In the province of the mind what one believes to be true, either is true or becomes true within certain limits. These limits are to be found experimentally and experientially. When so found these limits turn out to be further beliefs to be transcended. In the province of the mind there are no limits. However, in the province of the body there are definite limits not to be transcended.-J.C. Lilly
