Hello people, This might not be the right forum to post this, but I can't post in other topics yet. Someone I know, let's call him Bob, is going to Peru in a few months. He is interested in the idea of ayahuasca ceremonies, but is clueless so far about how to go about finding one. A few things about what his situation: -He wants something relatively cheap; Bob doesn't have the funds for any of the US$2000 tours listed on this website. -Bob is traveling by himself. -He is less of a new-age sort of person, and more of an analytical person. He thinks that an authentic ceremony would be great, a non-authentic come-here-experience-it-leave place would be ok, and a ceremony with people preaching about deep inner healing and other western-type mysticism would be a bit weird. Not that he has anything against people who believe in that, he just says he would rather make his own journey. -Bob's plan is to go to Cusco and then Lima, but if a trip to Pucallpa or even Iquitos is necessary he can change his plans. Does anyone know if there are ceremonies closer to or even in the main cities? -He is pretty good at Spanish, but doesn't want to look stupid or shady or get ripped off by asking the wrong person in Peru. -He says he would appreciate any general advice on how Peruvians view these ceremonies, how to ask where to find them, legal issues, or even general travel advice.
