D.REY'S Kava preperation Options

things you'll need

1. 4 Tbsp. of kava root powder.

2. 1 Tbsp. of coconut oil.

3. 32 OZ. of warm water.

What you'll want to use is a blender. It's the easiest and less work involved, where usually in traditional prep you have to use your hands in the water massaging the kava and it doesn't seem fun really.
Add your root powder to the blender. 4 Tbsp is one dose for that amount of water I've looked but you can up it I suppose. Then add your coconut oil and start the tap so the tap water starts to get hot.
The water only needs too be as hot as your tap is right before it starts to steam and then add the appropriate amount of water at that temp. The hot water will melt the coconut oil so it will be able to start a emulsion.
Then just blend the mixture deal good then leave it be. Every time after that, whenever you remind of it just blend it a little bit and move things around. The root powder will start by floating on the top mainly and end up sitting on the bottom, at this time I think it means the root has absorbed all the water it can or something and then I strain it.

straining
Once the root has settled to the bottom for the most part you'll need to strain and squeeze the kava once you have strained it and placed the pulp into something you can squeeze the excess water out of it.
You'll need a nice fine strainer or a mueslon bag or however you spell that lol Then a coffee mug with a coffee filter placed in it.
Then start adding the kava mixture in the strainer and take time with a spoon mixing it so it filters into a pitcher or something big. Then spoon your kava root into the coffee filter and continue till your done with filtering the liquid.

Nice and simple looking recipe.
I will try this out and give feedback.
Thanks DREY

I'm so jealous of you kava drinkers. I love the effects of it...however...

The last two times I drank real kava I broke out in a full body skin rash that lasted 2 full weeks. I literally couldn't sleep at night. I had to sit up in meditation and sort of trance out all night to get any rest. I was a complete disaster both times. Even Yogi brand Kava tea causes a multiday skin rash...though much milder than drinking the prepared root.

BTW. The skin rash I get is essentially debilitating and I sincerely hope none of you experience it. I have only encountered a few other people online mentioning it so you are probably fine, but just know that some people do develop and allergic reaction to it.

Peace

I'm so sorry Joe that's so weird that that happens, you must be allergic to the plant or something.

Boogz it's easy but idk how ppl want to take a whole lazy day of doing this but it's the most potent prep I've come up with using both hot and cold water with two times squeezing the root in total.

super van epi: im going to start updating this with general reviews of different strains and maybe ppl will use it other then just me lol

grind and brew color: has a pretty fine grind but not so bad that it makes allot of sediment after you have filtered. it has a kavalactone type of smell that makes you know that it is pretty potent kava. once brewed the kava is actually allot more white and light colored then I thought it would, and tastes light too with a strong kavalavtone taste like the smell entails.

effects: pretty surprisingly mellow kava not overly euphoric or to sedative. it has a weird equilibrium between the too and means it isn't overly laden with kavain. has perfect anxiolytic effects and nice muscle relaxation and joint pain management and is a almost invigorating inebriation. definitely a nice all day, out going around kava and not a night cap type of one.

Tongan pride

I'll start by saying that this strain of kava is the only kava that has ever gave me that "kava hangover" effect. I would be very interested to find out what is to blame for this, if it is a certain kavalactone or some other chemical property from the root. It's not like a alcohol hangover but I do feel groggy and achy the next morning when i wake up and dissipates as I get going for the day.

effects

It has pretty moderate local anesthetic effects when you begin to drink it but not a very strong kava taste like some other strains Ive had. It has a slow build up into a comforting relaxation that leads into this cool introspective couch lock almost, but easily broken if you get up and go do something. Ive found it to have this very cool multi day anxiolytic effect where it helps curve my slight anxiety for 3 days after I ingested some and I think the weird kava hangover effect has something to do with this. This is a great kava for ending a work day or a night cap type of thing if you have problems falling to sleep, ive drank this during the day time or all day and its to introspective and sedating if you sit down at all for it to be a productive all day kava. Tongan pride is one of the more odd types of kava I have tried in the respects that it gives me this weird hang over and its so very introspective, but a good kava non the less.
