I've read through just about every extraction method for lsa extraction's and came across one on http://www.rollitup.org/...-have-lsa-crystals.html that actually had crystal's form...

I have been preforming small scale extractions on HBWR for the past couple days and haven't had any luck with crystal's forming. I used a non polar then polar extraction and only got a brown residue. If anyone has had a successful attempt's with forming crystals please add any helpful tips. All feedback will be much appreciated!

At the end, he lists the dosage and it seems extremely high. He listed a high dose as >50seeds worth. God damn! I mean good seeds you wouldn't want to eat 1/2 that. The good quality ones that I ate back in the day I never consumed more than 12-15 at once. Most folks would have been fine with 4-6. I cannot help but thinking that something is off here. Maybe it is a typo, the extraction is extremely inefficient, or maybe the strength of commercial seeds is 1/10th the potency of good commercial seed 10 years ago/this guy's seeds suck. Something is off there though.

Honestly what do you end up with really? A liquid extract. Other than just to say that you can, why not just take an aqueous extract of untreated morning glory seeds? The alkaloid profile produces a richer experience than HBWR and removing the toxins from that is the only real advantage that I am hearing. Also, note that the above pictured extract was described as "waxy" in its parent thread. A white powder and the claim of crystals in the tek are the only "crystals" that I'm seeing. Considering that we are not even sure which alkaloids specifically are responsible for the effects, even a well crystallized extract may not be representative of the full active alkaloid profile. I wonder what the best broad spectrum solvent would be. I'd probably start with chloroform. In my experience it doesn't seem like the actives break down in naptha. Maybe you could do a prewash with it and then also defatten the chloroform before evaporating. Then proceed as before. I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud. Like I said, I'd probably just make a crude liquid MG extract.

I'm in the middle of that tek right now I'm waiting for the anhydrous acetone to evaporate which should be sometime tomorrow and I will be moving on too the next step please keep me posted on how yours turns out

What i found helpful for evap, was using the top of a dehydrator and place it right above your evap dish. works great!

If I had access to one that would be great but I just have it outside in the dark for now

Definitely think about getting one. its helped cut time down on extractions for SWIM every time

hardly, it's actually quite old.
just a bit more involved, seeds are simpler to work with.

So do you just let the fungus grow in the right conditions until you have enough to extract lsa from?
