from ebay, it was local-pickup only. the old guy took good care of it, it was well-oiled and cleaned; i just polished the faceplate. stapled to the inside of the cover is a yellow warranty card from the store he bought it from, dated 8-22-73. Cool
oh yeah..and it says 'list-price $598'

You shouldn't stack records like that, benzyme!

Reel-to-reel is definitely something SWIM would like to upgrade to when he's reached a greater level of recording maturity. It's kind of expensive, though, isn't it? SWIM's having a hard enough time forking out the cash for cables, let alone the 4-track cassette recorder he so desperately needs.

That's a beauty benzyme. I got that exact same peavy amp too. I'm thinkin I might sell off my guitar and amp and get an Ibanez bass.

holy crap, rellik...that is in amazing condition.

yeah, amor_fati, I know...i just temporarily moved my records (old jazz records, actually) to put the recorder on the crate. the Teac A1200 series are relatively cheap (<$120), they use 5 to 7" reels. You may be thinking of ones like the 3300 series, which use 10" reels. those are more expensive. (>$300)

thanks, Visual. this baby is practically new.
whenever possible, buy collectible items off of old folks, including cars. they take good care of their stuff.

go for it...get that bass. one day, i may consider getting an upright bass
