cant really understand this, for changa, do harmala alkaloids need to be freebase or salt form? is freebase stable in air?

also how do you freebase harmalas? will this work, dissolving the salt into ethanol, then adding a few drops of ammonia, then evaporating everything? i really dont want to have to filter because of loss of yield, and that its just such a messy process.

or just preforming an stb from the salts. dissolve in acid water, add sodium carbonate solution, add xylene and evap the xylene

many would say freebase and it is generally the preferred form.. though in all honesty i've had just as powerful and visionary (if not more) experiences smoking the salts too.. also the salts will readily dissolve in alcohol which is good for more even distribution in your changa. i don't find them harsh to smoke either though when using a bong if smoking them on their own they can block up a bit
