Technically the sun isn't stationary.....
BUT he did open the world up to future open mindedness that we are not the center. We are not the most important. We may not be the only ones.....
We are surprisingly similar.

Does the heliocentric theory state that the sun has to be stationary?
From my own logical standpoint, I would think it wouldn't have to be. :] Seeing how our galaxy is also circling something.
