Making a hard stable crystal Options

Hey guys! I had an idea to make a crystal wrap with the center piece being a very hard spice crystal about the size of a quarter that will stay very stable over time.. Is it possible or not for the specific substance to attain such a state? My spice is usually very white and "shardy" but I've never had any respectable size crystal chunk before and I would really like to. Your thoughts and comments are much appreciated.Pleased

I would do a search and probly check out the extraction section. There is a thread on growing crystals (or two). One member in particular was showing us beautiful pictures of his good success.

I love your idea Cool

Thanks for the reply! Yes I found this post: https://www.dmt-nexus.me....aspx?g=posts&t=8862 ... It seems like people agree a slow evaporation from naphtha will yield the biggest crystals. Does anyone know how stable and hard they will be and if its possible to make something practical for a wrap?

Lol thanks I also love the idea I hope it's possible Razz

Would be nice to see, if it works out hope you share pictures Smile

The threads I think Whatisreal is referring to are actually over in the Advanced/Enhanced chemistry subforum.

Geometry of DMT crystals - p7 has some dense crystals by nn-DreemMasterTree. Many other beauties within.
just some xtals

edit: looks like you beat me to the reply. But yes, slow evaporation of naptha seems ideal for large/dense crystals from my casual overview of the threads. I have no idea how other solvents perform in various situations (except BLAB made some beautiful urchins).

sadly this will not work.

Ive wrapped tons of crsytals..lol no way you are gunna get a DMT crystal to be able to do that and be worn etc..unless mabe you trap it in resin..which heats up when it sets due to the catalyst which would in turn probly just melt the DMT inside the resin before it sets.

Also, why would you waste the DMT for this? thats a lot of DMT. Might as well use a lemurian quartz or something.
Long live the unwoke.

Ahhhh man! My original assumption was that it would be impossible to do anyway so this is no surprise to me.. I was also thinking that some type of resin or poly coat over it would make it stable but thanks for pointing out Jaime this most likely wouldn't work..

And about wasting it, I don't really think its a waste.. Not that I have some infinite supply or something but I feel like the hard work put in to crystalizing such a crystal would be rewarding in its own right and to wrap it and wear it would be rewarding on a whole other level. Just my personal opinion.

Maybe I could enclose the crystal in a very small glass sphere somehow and wrap that? Probably won't but it's hard to let the idea go now lol!;p
Thanks for the responses everyone I really appreciate your input!
Very happy

I like the idea of the glass sphere.

It might not be visible, but you'll know what's in there.

Plus, it you wouldn't have to use too much.

Could you, possibly, make some kind of cool, viscous tree resin (I'm thinking Amber or Pine resin here) and place a crystal on top and let it sink (over time) into the resin?

The liquid resin could be in a mold already and the xtal could slowly sink to the centre, and then be quickly freeze hardened.

The resin would have to be below room temp to allow the crystal to stay formed. Also liquid enough not to break the delicate xtal form. (works for mosquitoes)

Just thinking out loud...Wink

Cyb I really dig that idea^. And also LOL when I told my buddy about this idea he also mentioned encasing it like the Mosquitos in Jurassic park! Very happy ..If I do end up attempting something (most likely filling a small glass sphere) I will definatly post pics.

this wouldn't work, tree resins will dissolve dmt by time. resins are composed of terpenes.

Mosquitos have chitin and are thus are quite tough compared to dmt crystals.

Infund...with your extensive chemical expertise at play...do you know of an inert viscous fluid that is liquid at temps below DMT melting temp and can be hardened with some kind of reaction or freeze etc. ??

No need for much chemical expertise here...Big grin

why not try honey? or clear glucose syrup? Either are too polar to ever dissolve or harm dmt. You could harden it in the fridge and encapsulate it in glass somehow?

You could try usung a "Tuffleye" kit, which is an acrylic resin that sets within seconds by shining the little UV lamp (supplied with the kit) on it.

Fly Fishing enthusiasts use it for coating various materials used in fly-tying. ( do a Google search and you'll find the site)

Just a thought.
