Hi,

I kept a real old STB extraction until I got some Xylene and recently done an extract with that. Due to being busy though I have only just evaporated it. I Evaporated with a food dehydrator which left a runny goo and a smell of DMT so I assumed that was as good as it was going to get and put it away. The next morning I found this though:

Is that the norm? Looks nice in either case Smile

Yup, those are full spectrum xylene crystals for sure.

If there are still oily patches, they will also crystallize like that as well if you leave them a bit longer.

It's way easier to deal with the wax (crystallized parts) than the oil.

Job well done, congrats!

So, you are not done when the naphtha is no longer picking anything up? I didn't realize you could do this. Swim should get some xylene Smile are those crystals active/safe to smoke?

Yup, it's safe to smoke and quite active. As an added measure of safety, you could evap the xylene, scrape it up once it crystallizes and then dissolve it in a bit of alcohol (iso, ethanol, methanol) and evaporate that.

This will release any traces of xylene that might remain after the initial evap.

And yet another alternative is to salt the xylene with FASA and then freebase it with sodium carbonate which would be the safest bet. More information about that can be found in the FASA forum DMT Extractions.
