Man, nothing like getting up at 6:30 a.m. after a night of my first migraine ever (LOL - could you please shoot me in the head - it would hurt a lot less than this) I get this in this morning's news: http://www.ktvu.com/news...ug-lab-seize-guns/nS2ms/We watched the film and what a fricken setup. There was one quart sized Mason jar full, another one half full, some police tape and ambiguous looking containers of solvent. Looked like a 100 gram run for personal use. But, also looked like, cops had this bust, had called the news people in and then "Ooops - what do we show them now that we called and said DRUG LAB!?" Also, note that when they say drugs and guns were seized that they seized zero mass of the final product and that this is a tough neighborhood in the South Bay Area. Extract with weapons on hand at your own risk (as we do here in 'da hood). Though crazy bad mojo and bad traffic to have things like meth and H there too. Marijuana in the Bay Area? Sorry, that's not a bust, LOL. "But even if nothing lasts and everything is lost, there is still the intrinsic value of the moment. Mhm, it was dreamoar Quote:MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (KGO) -- Mountain View police have shut down a drug lab producing a psychedelic substance, used by Shamen in the Amazon during sacred rituals. The drug is known as DMT. This may be the first bust of its kind in the Bay Area.
Police found the DMT lab in an apartment complex. Police say DMT is a hallucinogen that can be ten-times than LSD. These types of operations are rare and police only know of three in the entire state.
Cleanup crews worked well into the night to safely dispose of this suburban Mountain View drug lab. It was discovered earlier in the day when police and a SWAT team raided two adjoining apartment complexes on Bush Street. They served four search warrants and found a DMT lab.
"Dimethyltryptamine, it's a hallucinogen, fast acting, illegal, and from what we know so far, this may be the first lab of this kind in the Bay Area," said Mountain View Police Sgt. Sean Thompson.
Police were tipped off by neighbors. One neighbor, who doesn't want to be identified, says people would come and go from the apartments at all hours and she says, it smelled.
"They had this little BBQ on the side and they were never cooking anything, but you could smell burning plastic," said the neighbor.
DMT is found in plants. Shamans in the Amazon are known to use it in a ceremonial drink called ayahuasca.
Up close it looks like a yellow crystal, but police didn't find any finished product since it was still in the process of being made. So they found frozen plant material, broken down plants, acid and other unknown chemicals. They also recovered heroine, meth, marijuana, and several guns and other weapons.
At least three people were arrested. The man who owns the building says he knew his tenants smoked a little, but had no idea about the lab.
"Sometimes they're a little late on the rent, but I don't hear anything illegal or fighting or something crazy going on," said Ernest Louie, a building owner.
Police do expect to make more arrests. http://abclocal.go.com/k...south_bay&id=8879485Got GVG ? Mhm. Got DMT ? Crazy.. and kind of sad. At least, they bopped em, and it wasn't just dmt they had. Extracting it safely, and quietly, is key. Doing heroin, and smoking/snorting meth.. not so key. Still.. it's pretty sad. It seems as though this sort of thing is really on the rise. Last year, maybe two years ago, I never heard such things. "DMT drug labs". DMT busts. Now.. it's at least once a month. Super Radical wrote:Naww. MJ sandwich is the way to go the first time. Then next time after the WTFOMG moment, realize your ready to changa things up.
It's more special that way. 'DMT is not one of our irrational illusions. What we experience in the presence of DMT is real news. By the way, they were not 'producing', they were extracting. It's the plants that produce it in this case. Let's try to get our concepts right here

I have an app on my phone that keeps me updated with news stories and other media regarding the key words "Dmt" "dimethyltryptamine" "ayahuasca" etc and my phone blew up with lots of notifications on this story for some reason PS

Let's hope your phone doesn't get confiscated. Sounds like a liability to me in light of recent busts... "Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored." -A.Huxley

Why is this an "at least"? Why is it good that they were arrested? What difference does it make whether they had just DMT or cannabis or shrooms or LSD or DMT, meth, heroine and cannabis? Let's hope your phone doesn't get confiscated. Sounds like a liability to me in light of recent busts... Hmm, perhaps Is it really any different our worse than doing something similar on a lap top though? Unless of course one has lots of privacy protection methods in place. Which I'm going to go out on a limb here and say majority of users on this forum most likly don't do. There is obviously the mobility aspect but I never leave the house with illegal substances or paraphernalia. Tbh I lead a very straight edge life and don't hang out with anyone who uses drugs or drinks for that matter. Full time medical student and dress nice and work out eat healthy. I totally portray the image of an up standing law abiding citizen. Just a very low probability that I would ever have my phone confiscated for any reason. Obviously the probability is still there albeit being so low. PS

What difference does it make whether they had just DMT or cannabis or shrooms or LSD or DMT, meth, heroine and cannabis? This is what I'm confused about. No no no, I'm not implying it was a good thing at all. I guess I worded it a little, to simply. I guess I was trying to say at least it wasn't just the dmt they were looking for. Not another dmt specific raid. People who openly use heroin, and meth, and then extract dmt on top of it. It's not a good look for dmt. It's starting to be connected with the bigger, dirtier drugs. And, that's something that shouldn't happen. I guess.. why I even said at least, was, because people like that, shouldn't be openly flaunting such a substance. Heroin? Meth? Yea, ok. Go ahead and flaunt it. Stay outside all hours of the night, using it. DMT shouldn't be something that you use like that. abclocal wrote:They also recovered heroine, meth, marijuana, and several guns and other weapons. That, to me, doesn't sound like the right kind of place to be extracting. Why are there guns around? Who needs guns, and weapons, when you're peacefully extracting? If you're holding other substances that deserve a gun in your possession, I'm not so sure dmt is the path you need, at this precise moment. I don't know if it's the media, tainting my views on methamphetamines and heroin, but, I've never once seen anything good come from those substances. I've even known my fair share of people using, and.. not one of them has turned out respectable. I mean.. sure, I guess the money's good. But, is it really? After writing this all, I guess I don't know where I stand anymore. In one hand, it's horrible they got busted extracting such a wonderful chemical. But.. in the other hand, they're using these other, horrible chemicals. I mean, it's crushing, seeing another "lab" being taken apart. But, at the same time, inviting those other chemicals to be around you, and other people who use them, is almost asking for trouble. Guess I'm just having a hard time voicing my exact opinion. Sorry for the confusion. Super Radical wrote:Naww. MJ sandwich is the way to go the first time. Then next time after the WTFOMG moment, realize your ready to changa things up.
