You'd better be prepared for the jump into hyperspace. It's unpleasantly like being drunk."

"What's so unpleasant about being drunk?"

"You ask a glass of water."

ffs. elaborate?

I reckon about 1hr 40 when mua'dib calls up the worm, and rides it

edit: now that I think about it, I remember watching a video on ayahuasca recently:
supposedly you are supposed to be consumed/envoloped by the serpent, the serpent of knowledge and then that is you accepted:
but this guy was talking about riding it, and one of the masters was saying that nothing can come of that approach.
which fits with ghandi's quotation "nothing based on violence can last"

That's a french documentary on Ayahuasca isn't it ? I think it's called "Ayahuasca : Le Serpent et moi".
As for Dune, it's a movie from the 80's that takes place on the future, in space.
That would actually be very cool to watch while tripping on something, it's so weird lol ( I always remember the whole "The spice extends life. The spice expands consciousness. The spice is vital to space travel" thing because of an Astral Projection song ).

Why the hell would you like to smoke DMT while watching Dune? I don't think Dune has anything to do with DMT except that they talk about spice there. But not DMT. But you can also watch a cooking show on TV and smoke DMT. They use a lot of spice in these shows.

The Spores extend Life .
The Spores expand consciousness .
The Spores are vital for space travelling.
Had he more quickly realized just who they were,he would have shown them more respect.Had he tried harder to fathom their brilliant minds,he would have taken more of their teachings to heart.Had he more clearly understood the purpose of their being,
he would have more vigorously tried to assist them. They were truly honorable; he was sadly prejudiced.
They were exceedingly well informed; he was grossly ignorant. They were totally indefatigable; he so often, and so quickly, gave up. Still, for many years there was a strong inter-species alliance between the Eleven-Eleven of the Half-way Realm, their Seraphic Associates, and their flesh-and-blood friend, a common mortal. Much was accomplished, many profited, and, there’s only one regret...They could have achieved so much more...

SWIM thinks that the Brian Eno music in that film is incredibly cohesive to the experience. I love David Lynch, but it's too bad they didn't allow Jodorowsky to go through with filming his version; he was going to be working with Moebius and Giger on the design of the film.

Dune was not inspired by DMT but by mushrooms, here's a quote from Paul Stamets in 'Mycelium Running' (he knew Frank Herbert):

"Frank went on to tell me that much of the premise of Dune - the magic spice (spores) that allowed the bending of space (tripping), the giant worms (maggots digesting mushrooms), the eyes of the Fremen (the cerulean blue of Psilocybe mushrooms), the mysticism of the female spiritual warriors, the Bene Gesserits (influenced by tales of Maria Sabina and the sacred mushroom cults of Mexico) - came from his perception of the fungal life cycle, and his imagination was stimulated through his experiences with the use of magic mushrooms."

Hm, I think the film spiralled down into a mess in the second half... I like to watch films on a low dose of mushrooms but DMT? No thanks Pleased

AFAIK, Brian Eno only worked on one of the songs: "Prophecy Theme", the rest of the compositions was completely done by Toto.

I REALLY love this movie. I have the VCR and the DVD of it. Very happy. Tough watching it in HD is next in line.

About when to smoke DMT: I don't think there is one point in the movie that requires DMT to enhance the muse.

I think the Planet Earth series on mute with some chill music would be alot better.

Yes, Planet Earth on mute with some good psy-trance is perfect. Does anyone else find that almost all movies can become much more dramatic on spice or aya? Even something you know is very lame can seem very serious and meaningful.I guess all psychedelics do that to some extent.
