Mushrooms make me sober Options

Almost every time I have taken mushrooms I have had the thought that "this is the most sober I've ever been"..like putting on glasses that allows you to see things EXACTLY as they truly are.

Anyone else get this?

High (for me) very intense trips with all kinds of things I won't even try to explain, but during the midst of all of it I always feel like when I'm actually sober that I'm messed up and when I'm on mushrooms I see everything with perfect clarity and truth and understanding.

Yea like I said I know exactly what your talking about, however, it can go both ways. I dont know how experienced with mushrooms you are, but I have gotten just a little too cocky with them a few times and they will not hesitate to bitch slap you into the ether. And in my experience with them, they really like to prove you wrong once you think you got em figured out lol. I really love them nonetheless, very wise.

Yes, I too have noticed this. Doesnt happen everytime, but on the come down I have noticed that movements seemed more fluid, actions more efficient, and thoughts came to me clearer (problem solving thoughts).

Curious to the cause of this.. Might it be that thise thoughts and actions on the peak are so contrasted that it seems "easier" on the comedown?

It's not quite like you're describing, it's more of me tripping so hard that I think I'm seeing everything in a way that I couldn't believe I wasn't before. Like having full real connections to art and other aspects of the environment..

I've also noticed that I get a very good understanding of the human condition and psychology.

But mushrooms makes me high and trippy for sure.

Mushrooms make me feel (at times) like I am processing far too much information at once to handle.

Borderline insanity.

Once, I had the concept pop into my head (and into my perception) that if you literally "flipped" the situation on it's head, it would make sense of everything.

In truth, that's just crazed thinking. Laughing

Yup. Here's one recipe for it:
- 5g of mushrooms grown beautifully in proper energetic conditions
- 1 experienced group of journeyers
- 1 wise shaman

When the shaman starts making total sense, it may feel sober on the inside but it probably looks batshit crazy from the outside ;-)

I had a strong feeling like this last week, when I took (a relatively low dose of) Mushrooms + oral MAOIs. First, I was totally blown away, almost taken by a surprise. Second - upon my arrival back from Hyperspace - I was like, to paraphrase Sky Motion, "how clear-minded I am - I didn´t know this was even possible!"

I took a notepad and started writing... I was affraid that I will lose this incredible mental clarity soon, so I wanted to put as much thoughts down as possible. I am not sure whether MAOIs had anything to do with this, but I haven´t experienced this state of "sober mind" on Mushrooms alone (I also need to stress that I am not that extremely experienced traveller, I had Mushrooms about 15+ times)

I know what you mean, I have had similar thoughts while on very high doses of LSD.

"This is the most sane I've been in my life."
“The most compelling insight of that day was that this awesome recall had been brought about by a fraction of a gram of a white solid, but that in no way whatsoever could it be argued that these memories had been contained within the white solid. Everything I had recognized came from the depths of my memory and my psyche. I understood that our entire universe is contained in the mind and the spirit. We may choose not to find access to it, we may even deny its existence, but it is indeed there inside us, and there are chemicals that can catalyze its availability.”

I filled about 10 pages by "mad man´s notes" on various topics such as my relations with other people, what should I change in my life (such as leave alcohol completely out), and... not surprisingly... "I should eat Mushrooms more often" Very happy

During my journeys (DMT, Pharma, Mushrooms), when I am home, I have my voice recorder always on, and during the journey - when I am able to - I try to verbalize my visions, feelings and thoughts. I am always afraid that they will not make much sense when I am "sober" (but what "sober" means, anyways?). Afterword, I usually listen to my voice and try to write down as much as possible. And yes, most of that makes sense to me, because I went through it, I experienced it. However, unlike the great T.McKenna, I am hesitant to share most of it with other people, even the closest ones, because I am fully aware how "crazy" and "impossible" most of that stuff would look like.

That´s a very interesting experience, isn´t it? I mean how "sanity" and "insanity", "reason" and "madness", "rationality" and "irrationality", "sobriety" and "intoxication" etc. seem to be positions, points of perception and cognition, but only relative to each other, i.e. constituting each other.

(At least that´s what I learned by working with psychedelics...)

i disagree, many things are not as they seem, and typically how they seem is in fact flipped on its head from how they are.

for example, many times in chess i don't see the right move until i turn the chess board around. i think playing with a rubik's cube while tripping Shocked may have helped me intigrate this concept a bit more
