Who makes the Nexus banners at the top of the pages? They are all truly awesome and I enjoy refreshing the page just to see new ones! I was wondering if these are just from members or is it one person making them? Are these located in a gallery somewhere?

There's also a thread in the Open Discussion called "banner submission from a new guy".

It started out as a contest to design a single new banner to replace the old one, which Traveler felt was too large and outdated. The submissions ended up being so great that the community decided to keep all of them in permanent random rotation. New submissions continue to be welcome.

Thats pretty cool that they are all from the community, it looks like there are a lot of creative minds around here and it is pretty inspiring Very happy ! What software programs are people using nowadays to design these? I used to use a lot of CorelDraw in HS but I doubt that is what was used in these banners.

A whole lot of Photoshop, along with a variety of fractal generators. Uncle Knucles used a 3D program called zBrush (black and gray banner with crazy characters); I used an obsolete 3D program called Bryce for mine (crazy tile pattern on walls and ceiling). Photoshop is the big one though.

Awesome, thanks for the info! I didnt know that fractal generating programs were out there. I will have to check out some of those programs, they sound like fun.
