Firstly, let me apologise. I'm sure this question has been asked many times, but my google and nexus searches haven't provided me with anything definitive either way.

I'm taking an SSNI (venlafaxine 150mg) daily. My doctor has decided than I am functioning fine and the circumstances that dictated that I needed these tablets no longer exist. So I'm coming off the happy pills.

She is going to cut me down gradually and eventually stop. I have to very close questions:

1) How long before it is TECHNICALLY safe to take an MAOI? i.e. how long before the SSNI has left my body.

2) How long SHOULD i wait after stopping the SSNI before taking an MOAI preparation?

Efexor is a SNRI, not SSNI, right? Maybe that caused your search erros? The same information applies to SNRIs as SSRIs and if you do a search at the stop using keyword "SSRI" in the headings field you will find three pages of results.

Short answer: Wait at least a month.
