I have a salvia plant that is about a foot and a half tall now and I'm wondering if it would be beneficial to pull off the larger leaves, they don't seem to be shading the other leaves too much but they look as though they have stopped growing and I'm thinking it might be better if the plant used the energy elsewhere. Is this a good idea?

I have yet to grow salvia. But as with most plants pruning should be just fine. just do it a little at a time to not shock the plant.

I usually don’t prune my plants at all. It slows their growth down quite a bit.

When your plant is large (3-4 feet tall), take some cuttings and harvest the entire plant.

Thanks guys, I took off two large leaves as a test and it is doing fine but I think I will leave them on as it didn't seem to increase the growth of the rest of the plant at all.
