Must be logged in to view the article, but from what the heading says it seems to be referring to studies with terminal cancer patients? I've read a study of the use of psilocybin, and also from personal experience I think it is likely that the majority of people that take entheogens in a comfortable setting will gain better insight into their own mortality. We seem to be disconnected from the idea of our own mortality, at least in the "civilized" west that we don't realize our fears and our true goals until it's too late.

I see these articles around the net every so often, but seldom from a name as big as the NY Times. A good change from the recent string of bad press.

And if that's not what the article was about then my apologies for de-railing (the tab heading cut off the last few words of text Embarrased )
The only hell for a warrior is peace.

The warm fuzzy side of the cold hard truth.

It's a really good article in the times magazine section .
One of a series of articles on the brain
Actually featured on the cover. The testimonials about psylocybin in article are beautiful. Puts a while new face on things for people ignorant about the possibilities of these substances .
The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
