Okay so I had the flu(I am guessing) about 3 weeks ago..and it lasted for 7-10 days..I am quite sure it was a virus and felt like influenza..I was cold, muscles aches, headache, fatigue..some nausea but not to the point of vomiting or anything..

Then it went away until about 5-6 days ago..5-6 days ago my symptoms all came back and it has kind of freaked me out..is it normal for a virus to either come back like this, or for someone to get 2 viruses in such a small ammount of time?

I had to take 100mg of advil 2 times now and then I feel better and can sleep better..but I HATE taking pharma pain killers and had not taken anything like that in years until now..

I dunno what going to a dcotor can do unless I take anti-biotics..but I am freaked out about that as well becasue I have dealt with alot of digestive problems in tha past and dont want to throw my whole gut flora out..

Also..before I got sick again last week, I had a really strong ayahuasca experience that lasted seriously for like 15 hours and kept me up all night..I was exhausted in every way after this and felt super sleep deprived. Sleep deprevation really just drains me and makes me feel like death..so could that have given the virus a chance t take hold again I had previously if it was not fully out of my system yet?

Long live the unwoke.

Not a dr but a friend of mines had a virus it went away then came back recently. He works a lot and doesn't get enough sleep, he's working from 8am-7pm most days and goes to bed at 1-3 am most nights, after getting rid of a virus that lasted a week it was back 3 days later, and lasted till the end of the week, when he got anti-biotics. He said it was down to lack of sleep and not getting enough time to recover properly and it came back for a second go at him. Ginger honey and Lemon tea really helps me when ill. All the best!

2 people in my family had exactly what you're describing. Over the last 3-4 months. (Midwest USA)

thanks..3-4 months sounds horrible..

I just thought about what I said though about anti biotics and that makes no sense..a virus is not a biological lifeform..I dont even think there is a medication for a virus is there? Just fluids, rest and immune stimulants. I had been drikning cats claw and ecinacea for immune support..but I stopped when I got better the first time..

Well, they didn't HAVE it for 3-4 months. They had it once for 2-3 weeks and then it came back for a week or so three weeks after they got over the initial sickness.

ahh okay..that makes more sense! I started to think about the idea of being sick for 3 months!

hopefully this just goes away in a few days or so and never comes back.

If you went to a doc they would probably try prescribing you antibiotics, to deal with any so-called "secondary infections"... But they tend to over prescribe the stuff and really, you're right- its up to you to knock down the virus. Get lots of sleep!

^^This is very true, and on occasion, is a reasonable course of action should there be evidence of such a secondary infection.

The story Jamie describes is more suggestive of having had a second virus shortly after the first but there are other less likely possibilities.Time will surely tell.....
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

I think you just need some solid rest. Probably the Ayahuaca session just sucked away the little energy that your body managed to recover.

Exactly. And what can I say, once after a hard exhausting mescaline trip I had a short flu viral infection (fever, fatigue, muscle pains, feeling cold) that totally healed away in 2 days just to give its place to a bacterial urinary tract infection that had to be treated with antibiotics. It is not that uncommon to contract another disease as you come out of one, since your body is still weak and vulnerable.

As someone who has usually 10 colds every year, i would not worry. Sometimes you get one virus just to get hit again in a week or two. It kinda sucks to be weak, dizzy etc for a month, but what can you do? I really would like to know.

makes sense

this reminds me of last summer. i'd done pharma a few nights in a row and was having some very deep experiences, but the last one really drained me big time. the next day i came down with something but i didn't know what it was. A rash was taking over my body, i had a headache constantly for a week, high fever, hot/cold flashes, and a bunch of other odd symptoms that made me think i was basically going to die, lol. I would have lost my mind if i didn't have hash

after some blood work it turned out i actually had mono, and then got fifths disease on top of that. i never noticed the mono before it all came together..for some reason all decided to hit finals week of a summer courseRazz

i know that your'e mostly on a diet of fruits and veggies

pls eat some meat , and drink tons of milk and eat milk products like cheese
its the best time to order that steak
also please stop all sexual activity till you're better

i have noticed its very hard to recover easily from sickness if one is on a total plant based diet , the more energy there is in the body the faster it will heal , pls provide plenty of rest , high protien food and plenty of natural testarones and healing will be very fast , also pls smoke some cannabis for relief during the day if possible

also i am not a doctor ,
pls heal soon

I eat plant based foods on a daily basis that are more protein dense than a steak. The idea that meat is more protein dense than all plant foods is a myth. Some seeds have more protein that meats do and I eat them ever day. I have no protein problems to speak of. I did have a serious digestive disease that has only gotten better since I became a raw vegan..and I am lactose intolerant.

I understand peoples concern with vegetarian and vegan diets..but my diet is far from a typical western veg diet. Alot of western veg diets do come up short.

however for a few days changing your diet can help ,
or maybe just some milk and cheese to boost the diet you already have , yoghurt really does help , its even better to just go for yoghurt rather than milk or cheese

in anycase , pls heal soon

Yeah I agree it isn't that unusual. I wouldn't worry about it, besides feeling bummed of course. If you get a third virus I would get worried though.

Sometimes we all just have to go through unpleasant things, even for prolonged periods, which is a bummerCrying or very sad Smile

I don't think this is good advice at all.

About the sex I don't know, well it does take some energy though..
