bummer dude! Looks like you and that GVG have had some good times.

This is why I've always had a sitter- basically, someone to take the hardware from my hands. But the presence of a sitter is sort of distracting too...

I'd imagine this has happened to alot of people. It's a shame. They should make protective cases made of rubber or something for these. Or, someone should come up with an idea for a DIY vapor genie protector.

Perhaps it was a sign from god that it was overdue for a cleaning.

i dont tend to use it in a way where i could end up dropping it far enough to break..i'm usually sitting or laying down on my carpet or bed, and when i know i'm going deep i set it down on my lap or on the floor. Even if i just hang on to it its only a few inches from the a surface.

Once i was lazy and just placed it on my shelf instead of in the case. Later on ayahuasca, while not even near the thing, it somehow fell off the shelf in the dark and landed on my singing bowl. It sounded just like it had shattered but somehow it survived. i hailed the gvg gods thrice

If you have a problem with breakage, get a volcano vap.
No possibility of breaking anything

What GVG is that?

I have tecnique that's "automatic": Pass from left to right hand and put the genie on your right side, takes two seconds.

Sorry but if you lose track of your pipe before reaching "there" you need more practice. Get a genuine wooden carved VG in case you are not comfy with glass, they work well too.



Genie's warning

I always sit cross legged with my hands in my lap, meditation style, the genie is usually nestled safely there clasped between my white knuckles when i get back. If I have time I try to put it on the coffee table, but it's usually too much effort

RIP Deeplake's GVG, you needed a good clean, but you served him well.

Sometimes by my last blast offs of the session I also keep the genie in my hands(usually not so strong that I can't feel my body), and I always sit cross legged, so it's resting around my legs in my hand. So I guess I can recommend it as one technique to keep the genie safe.

Just as a side note - my GVG is a completely different shape to that. And color, how come? Is it a different brand or something? just interested...

I have given some thought to this eventuality... I'm putting a lanyard on mine - it only hits the floor, if I do.

Yeah, I've thought about that too. I'm always very careful with it for that reason. Also glad to know mine isn't the only one that does that.
