Just curious, since I'm a curious monkey: how many established members have changed their avatar because a newer member uses it? I just noticed an avatar from a prominent member whom I knew right away, but it was a new member using the elder's avatar. It seems like it would be a relatively common situation, because how many simply go to Google Images and types in "dmt" or "psychedelic" and picks an image they like (I did) ?

Untill today, for a couple of years my avatar was a rather defient finger up at authority, photo of my own face. Today I decided to revert back to an older avatar I have liked and used for many years, on a number of forums. Even now, there really is not that much difference between the two images.

For over one and a half years I've had my avatar. Like you, I ran a "DMT" search on google when I joined the nexus to find my avatar. Sometime in the past I noticed one or two new users using the same avatar, but they've either changed it, or don't really post that often. I changed my avatar for the first time a couple days ago because I felt like including a "meaningful" Egyptian image. My first inclination was to use a portion of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, but after a day or so, out of no where, a memory synchronistically hit me over the head when I recalled that there was a Temple for a female that was supposed to be highly decorative, and for some reason the name Hathor was ringing in my head, even though I didn't know why. So I started looking at the art from the Temple of Hathor, and came across what I would crop into my new avatar. The intricate geometries that comprise the headdress, facial features and other details of this entity are those that I've seen repeatedly in hyperspace, and with the exquisite detail and color, I felt it made a nice fit for a new avatar.

Well, as a new member, I must admit I did have Avatar Overlap Anxiety. There are some very interesting and reflective avatars that people have chosen.

For my avatar I recalled some trippy photos of the large hadron collider, which is where I found mine. I like the idea of mystery still being present in the world...

Although I have no idea if someone else could be using my avatar. I'd be happy to change if someone asked.

Only thought: that if there is such possibility to create on Nexus program or page of the check identity on already available beside members avatars?
I seem this solved problem of the coincidence and helped new participant in choice their own avatar.
What you think? Rolling eyes

I knew mine would be ok since it's art I created.

AlbertKLloyd - I'd love to see the larger version of your avatar.

As long as everyone's posting the full size version of their avatars, here's mine Very happy

I change mine all the time and I usually use my own art, so I create my own sort of confusion around here Very happy

I think the overlap happens because there are a lot of avatars that come from the Nexus arts page, I do believe...

Mine's a pic of one of my favorite musicians, happens to fit me. I might change it soon, though, I saw a good avatar over at the shroomery and stole it!

I'll be honest, I found mine posted on 4chan. Dunno the author, but I really do like it and probably won't be changing it. Its a good representation, methinks.

From a non linear search I found trippy anon.
There was comment included with this pic.

Ethersec Anon would like to take the whole world on a trip

I thought this was cheery and pretty and freaky enough to make a pretty sweet Unicorn Chaser, and I dunno about you but I need a double this week, so here it is. Since it’s Anonymous in trippy format, I thought immediately of Ethersec. Ethersec, you may or may not know, is Anonymous‘ attempt to hack religion.
