First of all I want to apologize if a thread like this had already been posted but I am very excited to share my progress. I have recently become increasingly interested in the Transcendental Meditation practice. A few days ago I got an audiobook online that gave a easy to follow method that can supposedly show almost immediate results. Well here I am today, I actually just finished my evening meditation which lasted about 24 mins. This is an amazing feat considering when I tried meditating without instruction is lasted only about 5 mins, with a lot effort. The interesting thing is that during the actual meditation, you really feel nothing, but the second I came out I felt a relaxation relative to smoking weed. I look forward to continuing this practice regularly for the foreseeable future.

I'm really happy you were able to achieve peace after your meditation. I recommend really focusing on your breathing during meditation, and not breathing Thoracically, but breathe through the diaphragm. It's difficult to explain online, but you'll know you're doing it properly when you take deep breaths and your shoulders and chest stay level and unmoving, except the diaphragm contracts and expands, giving the illusion of inflation of the stomach region. I have found that I enter very deep trances during my meditation, even if I only do it for 5-10 minutes. My body becomes like a stone; my muscles completely relaxed but very rigid and not moving. Just a very enlightening tip I received from an incredibly knowledgeable person who learned from several different Masters. It really helped me enter into a deeper state of relaxation, and I hope you're able to put it to use as well. Cheers.
