This may be the dumbest question ever asked on the forums, but I don't believe in shame so here goes: Does white crystallized DMT have a natural odor? I just completed my first extraction using Q2121's vinegar/lime/naptha tek and it went beautifully (pics will be coming soon) but my white fluffy goodness still has a faint but noticeable aroma. Since I've never extracted/used the spice before, I have no idea if it is supposed to have a smell but it's kind of like a very faint mothball smell. Not really solvent-y, but a little chemical-y if that makes sense. I'm worried that some naptha got trapped in my crystals (the freezer was UBERcold) and I'm considering redissolving in something else like acetone to get totally clean (or at least less toxic) DMT. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated! "God is not outside us but is just us, the living and the dead, the never-lived and never-died. Funny, my girlfriend compares the DMT smell to mothballs as well, even after a re x it still has that odor, its just the way it smells I believe. Toadfreak!

Redissolve only if you feel like it. I do it every time. Just to be sure... Altough I think that in crystal form it's easier to keep white color, and if they're finely chopped and well air dried, I don't think naphtha residues are there in noticeable amounts. After all, most people don't redissolve.

Okay, I'm definitely going to redissolve them, if for no other reason than to clear my mind for my first liftoff. Acetone seems to be much easier to come by than pure IPA - the MSDS on Kle/an Str/ip Acetone says it's 100% pure. I'm assuming that's what I'm looking for? found me some 99% ipa. ill be doing the same, does IPA need to be heated? or does a simple shake in a jar do the trick? X

Has anyone noticed difference in color change when redissolving in IPA, in comparison to acetone? abusedtoaster wrote:found me some 99% ipa. ill be doing the same, does IPA need to be heated? or does a simple shake in a jar do the trick?
No heat needed...

Looks like I can actually get my hands on either pure Acetone or IPA-99. Any difference between using one or the other?
