So I don't know if I put it in the freezer a bit too late, but it was milk like and there was a thin layer of naphta left. I covered it with plastic foil and when I come home today it has been in the freezer for 48 hours.
Will the naphta that was left still be there now? If then can I just pour it out or should I let it evaporate?

Are there crystals in your naphtha ? if so, follow instructions in question 4.18 of FAQ to retrieve them. If not, check question 4.17. Yes you could just let it evap all the way, but then I dont see the point in freezing in the first place. How much mimosa was it, how many pulls, how big where the pulls, and how did you mix them?

I really hope there are crystals in the naphta  It looked really good (milk like) when I put it in the freeze even though maybe I evaporated a bit too much before putting it in there. It was 330g mimosa, only 2½ pulls because then the vase broke so yea most of the time doing the extraction I was cleaning my kitchen. I had 150-200ml naphta in for each pull and I got maybe 300ml of that in the freezer. I used shredded mimosa which I let stay in the caustic soda + water for 24 hours then as I said I used about 150ml naphta for each pull. I stirred it and let it separate for 25 minutes before removing it and pouring in another 150ml.

Next time try to blend the mimosa to powderize as much as possible. Letting shredded mimosa sit in caustic soda helps but its definitely recommended to blend it as much as possible otherwise your yields will be lower.
Evaporating ¨too much¨ the naphtha is never a problem, the worse that happens is some DMT already starts crystallizing before you even stick it in the freezer.

Btw, will I have to do like 4.18 in the faq? We can't be sure yet that my crystals are melting/disappearing right? If it all went well how's it supposed to be? The crystals frozen to the bottom of the form and I could just pour out the remaining naphtha?

yeah you could as a first try jsut pour it off/scrape and let dry. Just dont throw anything away untl you have your dry crystals, neither the poured naphtha, and do it all over some dish or whatever that you can save if there are spills or if crystals melt.

Alright, I just got it out and there's definitely some crystals there! Although the seem to be with some goo over the whole form. Should I just let it evaporate now and see what happens?
The crystals all look white and the goo is well i dunno... it must be naphtha together with some impurities or?

huh, what kind of naphtha did you use? The goo could be n-oxides or a bit of the jungle fraction, perhaps impurities from the naphtha? I wouldn't evaporate it myself, however you did say it has been in the freezer for 48+ hours, so I dunno if it's still cloudy try pouring it off through a filter? بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Hard to tell you what naphtha I was using since it's a swedish brand heehe. It's heptane anyways. I poured the heptane (naphtha) into a glass and kept the crystals and the goo and have let it evaporate now since I first wrote. The goo is disappearing it seems like.. Maybe it wasnt even goo you know? Just like frosting on the pyrex form... I don't know really. I was going to take a picture but didn't have the camera at home. Anyways it seems like some crystals are becoming dry and they look in my unprofessional eye very good so if you have no better idea I will let it sit until tomorrow and I'll see what I find then. Hopefully dry white crystals

Put a little of your.Naptha on a cd or mirror to see if it evaporates clean, it should leave no trace. Vm+p naptha leaves no trace, if you can find it, its actually really cheap too 13usd for a gallon or so. Toadfreak!

They are dry now but really yellow so I'm going to do a recrystallization in the weekend. I will weigh it then too.
