So Why is it i always get stuck with the jehovah witness, this morning two black women not being prejudice just so you know, and they began to tell me about what they had to tell me god and the bible and what not, Unfortunately me being the person i am i can't just say not interested and slam the door.

I usually talk a little basically humor them, They gave me two booklets one that is about the bibles view of sex, and the other Says Is belief in a creator reasonable? basically about how science says god doesn't exist and the people say science can;t prove that.

SO idk i really would just like to lay some info on them, it seems like these people are so close minded, and maybe if i could them just open them up to another idea besides the one they obsess over and waste a lot of life and time on, then maybe it would open them up to something else, they don't even have to believe it, but just the idea and maybe if it opens them up to new possibilities for them then they could spread the word to others .

Sorry if it seems like a crazy rant, it is crazy when i see people that are so devoted and focus on one thing only.

People just need to wake up, i am not denying that gods do exist or not, but what if all it meant nothing, i mean in my eyes it means nothing, life to me is living it to the fullest enjoyment, enjoying nature, watching sunrises and sunsets, just embracing the beauty while it is there, enjoying the silence of life, sitting outside at night eyes closed listening to the crickets, just loving and appreciating everything.

Sure we should be thanking the gods or higher ones, but what i believe we really should be thanking more than god because i hear it all the time, thank you god for giving us this food blah blah, We should Be thanking the Earth Mother Nature, The moon and the stars, and the sun, without these it seems as if our life could not be in existence like it is now.

If i could add another thing something from one of the booklets, it tries to argue that science can't prove they we were monkeys and evolved into humans, that we have not seen a human evolution, well in my argument evolution is a very long process and of course we are not gonna see it, it doesn't just happen.

That is all thanks for taking the time to read i hope that someone will concur with me so i dont sound like a babbling fool lol Smile .

I had the misfortune of being forced into that Cult (yes I said Cult simply for the fact I hate that religion) by my mother at a young age.. Thankfully I was able to see it's just another blind leading blind organized religion and when I was old enough where my over protective mother stopped making desicions for me, I stopped going and never went back.. The worst was being dragged door to door and being chased by dogs or gun wielding rednecks.. Nothing against rednecks btw, just the gun wielding ones that chase you..lol

I forgot to add that they treat their women like property. They preach about not being worldly or longing for material possessions but half of them if not more drive expensive sports cars or suvs, have expensive boats or other "toys" and "Love" all of their material posessions. Something in there about public drunkenness being frowned upon yet a good number of them (elders in the church who are supposed to set examples) get wasted damn near every night. And don't let them find out you like to smoke pot.. (personal experience here) They will put you up in front of a board of elders that try to judge you and make you feel like sh*t.. Add to that if you want to be a baptized member they want something like 4% of your yearly income.

I'm not prejudice against them or any other religion or belief for that matter.. I just can not agree with or be part of some of them. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone here, it was not my intention. I studied religion back in highschool and from doing so I was able to see that every religion has essentially the same basics as eachother however they all have something lacking.. As though a few things have been lost in translation over the many many years and even the leaders of these organizations/ religions don't even truthfully know just what they are trying to teach or preach about. They believe whole heartedly in what they say for some reason but they are blind and have not even got the whole story themselves. I believe it to be kind of difficult to teach something you only have part of the knowledge for.

End of rant..

To quote Alan Watts: "Irrevocable commitment to any religion is not only intellectual suicide; it is positive unfaith because it closes the mind to any new vision of the world. Faith is, above all, open-ness - an act of trust in the unkown."

On one hand I admire their devotion, but on the other, larger-scale hand, I feel very bad for them. While I am not anti-religion by any means, whenever I meet a person that is incapable of seeing the world in a different light than the one they currently know I can't help but feel they are missing out on so much in this life.
Learning to know that I do not know.

Next time before you answer the door....take a long slow...very large hit of DMT! Then open the door. Say "God Loves You"...while exhaling your hit directly in their face.

Peace.

If your religion, faith, devotion, or self proclaimed spirituality is not directly leading to an increase in kindness, empathy, compassion and tolerance for others then you have been misled.
