The dawn of life
is the dawn of suffering
to be conscious of life
is to be conscious of pain
through pain I adapt
through adaptation
I progress

But
what is progression
if only a productive race to the end
the same end
inevitable
looming
death

The void
waits outside my door
waiting for me to cross the threshold
waiting for a need of fresh air
I will step onto the porch
only to be inhaled
by a swift swoop
of a silver sun

The wisp of clouds
will carry my soul
to the stars
I will meet my lover on the moon
and catch a ride on a comet
speeding through the solar system
and we will dance
we will fight of the bitter chill of the universe
there will be warmth in her arms
and comfort in mine

Our children will look to the sky
and we will answer their prayers
they will look to the sun
and see our inspiration
a testament of love
the proof of our existence

I transform
out of pain
emerges love
a sweet calm
in the eye of a storm

Our existence is not irrelevant
My death is not to be feared
I will step through the wormhole
with the knowledge
this is not the end
I will step through the wormhole
hopeful and alone
I will step out of the wormhole
united with my lover
and hand in hand
we will walk across the sea
to an endless horizon
