Seems like it was meant to scare you off soda for good. lol. Not that some of what it says is true, its just that comparing soda to heroin, when in fact theres a shit ton of stuff in the world today that acts on your dopamine receptors (directly/indirectly) is slightly comical. Heroin is just an extreme example of this. What about the love of other people, are we comparing the dopamine rush received from that to heroin now?

"let those who have talked to the elves, find each other and band together" -TMK

In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy.
In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers...
The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

H2o in some cases has been known to moisten lips, this action is the same as can be found in *insert anything wet that's toxic".

Anyways... Soda's bad for your teeth kids!

im am quite confused about coca cola

i have to admit i somehow really like it...

not as much as i like fresh pressed juice or something similar, but of all the crap sodas out there its my favorite

i agree that this picture is anti CC propaganda and going over the top a bit with the heroin comparison but on the other hand, it is also addictive and not very healthy in many aspects

very addictive and really not adding anything to your health

but if i had some nearby id totally drink it, its so jummy and refreshing...

I find 7-up and orangina much tastier than cola. They taste a bit less like toxic waste.

Orangina contains evidence to suggest it may at one time have been related to actual oranges
That's good enough for me Smile

Funny because I just drank a can of coca-cola which is rare for me. Hah, I can imagine how an energy drink can magnify these types of things. Caffeine is a tough thing to kick, but this fatigue many people face, I guess other things such as a healthy diet and exercise can eliminate this need.

lol

I can't believe people still drink all this soda crap..

you do realize it only tastes good until you de-condition yourself from the taste (and maybe addiction)? Then it tastes like what it is.. toxic garbage Razz

Just the thought of ingesting soda is enough to make me vomit. It may be a bit of an exaggeration, but if we were to actually make drugs illegal based on the damage they caused, I feel the following would be the top three:

1. Alcohol
2. Cigarettes
3. Soda (obesity, diabetes, heart disease, tooth issues, etc.)

I can't tell you if that chart is right, but I don't need a chart to make sure I keep this poison out of my body. As Universecannon said, all you need is a few weeks of de-conditioning to realize it tastes like garbage anyways.

With fresh juice, clean water, yerba mate, good coffee, tea, and Aya to drink, who needs cola?

I remember several years ago when I stopped drinking sodas. I went a few months just drinking water and fresh fruit juices, nothing with added sugar. I lost twenty pounds.

Then one day I thought, what the hell, I'll have a can of Pepsi. I've been doing well with my diet, I can treat myself this once. The first drink I took from it, I swallowed, and my stomach began to instantly ache. I mean real serious pain, it was sort of frightening. It quickly passed, but it confirmed it for me, that pop is obviously a very toxic substance to our bodies, at least when consumed regularly over time.

The only carbonated beverage I drink now is ginger beer. I can't help myself with that stuff, and obviously the ginger and lime in it makes it not so bad for you Smile

Soda. One of the biggest addictions I've ever kicked, and it feels amazing. From weight loss to having more energy throughout the day - I don't miss them at all.

At the dentist soda was described as "Chainsaws to your teeth."

I feel like it's done by a true cola haterLaughing

When it says heroin works in the same way(dopamine production), wasn't it wrong, because heroin produces endorphin? Maybe cigarettes would be a better to compare as they do produce dopamine? But this obviously doesn't matter. As the purpose to show how eeeviill and bad coke is, is presented.

Three things about pop not yet mentioned...

Coke has a pH of 2. Think about the wear and tear of repeated use.

Also, High Fructose Corn Syrup... Bet your bottom dollar it's genetically modified.

Finally, aborted fetal cells, flame retardant... LOTS of twisted things constitute "flavoring" for various sodas.

Solution, if you really want a treat? At least get some ORGANIC pop. That way you can have a sweet and bubbly without frankensugars and 47 different chemicals.

Think about it! The healthier you are... the MOAR you can smoalk! Cool
Some things will come easy, some will be a test

the stomach's pH is ~ 1.8.
fructose is fructose, you don't genetically modify a small molecule.
artificial flavorings include various carboxylic acids and aldehydes, such as vanillin, the same
compound in artificial vanilla extract. they're not particularly toxic.

obviously, too much of anything isn't very good, including smoalking.

Thanks benzyme i thought this thread got out of hand...

Obviously sodas ain´t good for you but it´s basicly just sugarwater with some colours in it.

Nothing beneficial about it at all but a can or two ince a week is no worse than eating some donuts or candy.
