greetings nexians,

i dont post all that regularly but this experience over the weekend raised an eyebrow and i would more than appreciate some feed back...

i had planned to meet a friend on saturday at "occupy". we were going to partake in some of the activities there then later on go back to his place and enjoy a dmt experience or two... while at occupy we ran into a friend of his and he asked if there was enough so that she could join. now normally i would have said no, not knowing the person and all... for some reason this night was different and i had said yes for the soul reason that it "felt" like the right thing to do...

the setting was and attic bedroom. more specifically a nook in the attic that just has enough room for three people... we had journeyed there before so it wasnt anything out of the ordinary... as is my custom the person who has never smoked before goes first. so after a short meditation and a prayer read aloud she began to inhale hits from the bong...

all seem well, after about the third hit she began to drift and we took the bong from her as she lied back onto the floor.. she was fully in hyperspace. after about 2 minutes she began to YELL... at first it was just yelling then she began to yell repeatedly "i'm confused, i'm confused, i'm confused"... after a few choruses of that she began to flail around... the flailing and yelling got so extreem that the only way i could possibly explain it is to compare it to some sort of exorcism...

at one point she had stopped yelling and moving and we had thought she was going to puke but started to foam at the mouth.. (all the while we were trying to keep her safe, trying to ride out the journey)... the foaming of the mouth was followed by more yelling "i'm confused, i'm confused, i'm confused" and more flailing... the flailing got so bad that she actually snaked to the other end of the room.. where she, at this point in the arms of my friend started to sing some sort of beautiful Siren song, just different pitches "AAAAAAAAAAAAA, oooooooooooooooooo, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE".. her angelic song was followed by, you guessed it more yelling and flailing.. what seemed to be an eternity was about 20 min to half hour of this...

when she finally came back, she had the biggest smile on her face and had the most possitive experience.. she was unaware of anything that we had experienced back here on this plain of excistance and was trying despratley to voice and interperate the beauty and mystic she had just seen and had gone through...

i would be lying if i said that i wasnt more than a little relieved when she came back smiling with a positive glow but for the whole time she was in hyperspace i was concerned...

i have been in several group situations before and i myself am no spring chicken when it comes to changa but i have never seen anything quit like this before....

i am rather curious if anyone here has had a simular experience... for the most part i have only seen people lye back with some movement but nothing even close to the extreme i witnessed saturday... and again i should mention she came back saying how positive and amazing it was, she said she wasnt afraid or fighting it which throws me for a loop. the only times i have seen people react poorly to dmt are when people are afraid or trying to fight the experience...

in the end i take all as a lesson for myself and lesson learnt and recieved...

Sounds to me like she forgot the part where she was scared shitless. Smile

As for what happened? Who knows, but perhaps the pipe had some oily resin left in it from the last hit. Maybe she got a much larger hit than any of you thought she got.

Peace

This seems characteristic of an "overdose" situation. I'm not referring to a lethal dose when I say that, but it seems that 5-MeO DMT seems to have an affinity for creating situations like that where the user undergoes a white light experience or experience of a void of bliss or what not, and to them nothing has gone more fine and dandy in their whole lives, but when they get back, the sitters are scared shitless by the raging, screaming, convulsing tripper. Of course the tripper may have been scared shitless and was freaking out all the same with no recollection of physically freaking out, but that's not what I'm referring to right now. It seems that since 5-MeO DMT can more regularly produce such absurdly profound experiences that you have more stories from that side of the fence about such incidents with a freaking out body and a mind in nirvana, but with sufficient parameters met (whatever they may be: dose, proper vaping technique, DMT residue already in vaporizer?...) DMT can likewise create a similar scenario.

I've been through few sessions as a sitter.
I never witnessed 'a performance' you did, but similar in less extend, like sudden movements, shaking, talking in 'languages' and coughing out some saturated stuff from lungs once. When we talked about the experience with psychounat it usually turned out there was a fight taking place in there, DMT against psychounaut's mind trying to hold onto reality, trying to hold onto thought process during experience, just intensifying the confusion.

I remember my first few experiences with DMT were like that too. I had to learn to let go.
I never really felt worried, but I felt like I did not choose a right time and situation for DMT session though, spoiling psychonaut's first encounter with DMT dimension.

But again your experience was different, I would be worried for the girl as well, her being tripping like that for 20 or so minutes...

Sounds like she had a dissociative experience. Part of her was really aware of her trip and another part wasn't at all. Trance possession occures like that in possession religions. They have this blessed out experimde where they are kinda unaware or what happened and what their body is doing mean while some god or spirit is working their body and speaking and moving them. I've seen it. Seen it in ceremonies plenty of times. She could have by trance possession spiritualism definitions left and something else came in, that could have been very confused by what was happening. I saw this during a Hopi ceremony once. Guy had no idea what he was doing after words. some folks are just wired for that.

I suggest reading some Holger kalweits books. He's a transpersonal anthropologist and really does a good job of exploring cross cultural phenomena of altered states.

I've seen something similar , in the moment it was scary, my friend was yelling at the top of his lungs
What is happening to me !!! ? WHat is happening to me ??!!!! and actively moving around with a look of insane terror on his face.
There's so much more to the story but basically it all worked out in the end. My friend had an extremely profound
and spiritual journey that we still talk about to this day. It was a deep experience for both of us and i was just the sitter.

as a sitter i have witnessed people fight and resist the experience before but nothing like this.. i have taken this whole experience as one giant lesson. it was quit the teaching...

i never thought that an "overdose" was really possible but it would make sense if some one is sensitive. i deffinetly have to take that into consideration in the future... it was a pretty epic evening...

@dorge ill definitely have a look at holger kalweits,,, funny you bring cross cultural phenomena because that has been a reocurring theme in my life lately, with native american subjectivety specifically..

also one instruction or tidbit that ill have to include when introducing people or sitting for people is the reminder to let go and not to resist... you take it for granted or forget completely to tell people because it comes naturaly after a while of journying but i have to keep that in mind for the future...

keep in mind that in these extreme cases, all the instruction or know-how in the world regarding resistance and going with the flow will help because as far as these people with the freaking out body are concerned....they're not freaking out...even when it's happening to them! As far as they're concerned, they're most likely off creating a union with God in the greatest state of bliss imaginable while you're left trying to get the pale faced, thrashing individual from hurting himself and others. There's something of a mismatch between consciousness and body here. They not only have no control, but no idea that they've lost it.
