I'm curious, is it alright for me to promote another forum here? The forum is also along the same lines as The Nexus. It's just starting up again and I thought this would be a good place to let people know about it.

I don't think its against nexus rules - see attitude section, so I guess its ok if you want to promote other forum or you can always PM some moderator to ask to be sure its ok .

The issue would be if several people would start making advertisement posts for all sorts of forums and what not, it would really clutter up the Nexus. But then again what if there are other forums that would be interesting for Nexians to know about?

So how about this: Post the link of the other forum here, just once. Then, whenever such thing happens in the future that other people want to talk about other forums, they should post here, or we will merge the posts elsewhere to this thread. So people would be allowed only one 'heads-up' post regarding another forum here, and it wouldnt clutter up the forum. If others want to know about other interesting forums they can just check this thread.

Shameless? I would think the only shame would come from club politics, competitiveness or prejudice between alternate camps of psycho-nautical explorations.

I think I know what you are referring to... www.entheogen.com? I wouldn't have a clue if The Traveler would object but there is a strong parallel running through your suggestion for connecting souls from one forum to the other.

You see, when The Nexus was hacked and down, it was through mutual friends & members over at Edot, that I was able to learn anything about what had happened over here at the Nexus. Let's face it, we don't all exchange email addresses now do we? A lot of us are members at both places (and in others, too). That's why I think it's important to keep the same user name from one spot, to the next.

Besides,we are all on the same side, that being, the side of open and mature discussions about psychedelic molecules and their respectful usage. Right? Can any of us imagine a world where irresponsible comments went unchecked and nothing traditional, objective or responsible was even mentioned? Chills my blood, guys. After all, a good close look at the Internet at large, will attest to how insane our species can be.

Edot crashed, was hacked or something... and it's now only preserved as an archived site. Thankfully, the discussions have been saved from the emptiness of the void. As Dioxippus states, there is a new entheogen website that is now up and running (more or less) The whole thing is just getting off the ground still.

Like a lot of folks here, DMT-Nexus is my primary destination and place to share, learn and generally hang-out. But in all honesty, I feel that there is plenty of room in cyberspace for mutual respect and tolerance between all of the significant entheogenic forums (like: Psychonaut.com, The Lycaeum Forums, The Shoomery, Ayahuasca.com, Nature's Herb Forum, Spiritplants Forum, Tryptamind.com, etc, etc, etc... )

Just for clarity, the Nexus wasn't hacked it was just attacked by some packet kiddies. No one ever gained unauthorized access or anything

Thank goodness! But you can see my point? As far as most of us regular, ordinary member Nexians were concerned... there was a missing piece in the very fabric of our social lives (for lack of a better description) and we didn't know what was happening. Mutual members over at Edot extended their loving support and we had the opportunity for a connection. Let's hope that The Nexus is immune to what happened over at entheogen.com.

Thanks for this thread. I've been checking back on entheogen.com every couple days to see if the domain has been renewed, didn't realize it had been totally abandoned by the original owners and some mods had set up a replacement. Good to know these things

Thanks for the mention Dioxippus! I've slacked a little bit when it comes to getting the word out on the new forum.

To let everyone know what happened, basically the owner of the old edot has been incommunicado for the last few years. When the domain expired a few years ago some unknown party contacted the host and renewed it, but this time it looks like it was going to be allowed to die. I took it upon myself to make a new site, and a few of us have been able to archive the old site. Anyone who would like is invited to register there. I hope to buy the old domain once it becomes available, and will make it redirect to the new site. Thanks to the mods here for letting us get the word out.
