I absolutely love this cartoon... I have been a raging fan since day one. I have found a lot of people just don't get the humor, but I feel a lot of you guys are on the same page as I am... So just wondering if anyone else on the Nexus has seen the show and what they think of it. What are some of your favorite episodes? Favorite characters? Favorite moments? etc. This, what I'm experiencing now, is a whole new level of my being.

One of the bet animated comedy shows available today imo. Zoidberg takes the cake. Any episode without him is no episode at all. "let those who have talked to the elves, find each other and band together" -TMK
In a society in which nearly everybody is dominated by somebody else's mind or by a disembodied mind, it becomes increasingly difficult to learn the truth about the activities of governments and corporations, about the quality or value of products, or about the health of one's own place and economy. In such a society, also, our private economies will depend less upon the private ownership of real, usable property, and more upon property that is institutional and abstract, beyond individual control, such as money, insurance policies, certificates of deposit, stocks, etc. And as our private economies become more abstract, the mutual, free helps and pleasures of family and community life will be supplanted by a kind of displaced citizenship and by commerce with impersonal and self-interested suppliers... The great enemy of freedom is the alignment of political power with wealth. This alignment destroys the commonwealth - that is, the natural wealth of localities and the local economies of household, neighborhood, and community - and so destroys democracy, of which the commonwealth is the foundation and practical means.” - Wendell Berry

I like it. The show has some really profound moments. I was surprised at times by its power, considering it's a comedy cartoon. Take for example, the first movie with the time code. It's a really beautiful love story. Then in the second movie, with Yeebo. The relationship of people with yeebo is in a way, sort of how I feel about DMT. My favorite episode is the one where Leela gets stung by a bee and doesn't realize she's in a coma. Also the episode where Fry finds his fossilized dog is profound. The pastel colors in that show are very beautiful. This pic is "planet eternium" and I thought it looked sort of psychedelic. There was a thread in the nexus last year about futurama, saying there were new episodes coming, but they never came. Then recently, I saw ads on tv for a new episode this Sunday. They really are here! Apoc attached the following image(s): Eternium.jpg (61kb) downloaded 69 time(s).

The very first time I made ayahuasca, which was the first time I did anything successful with making something DMT related, I finished drinking, and was sitting in the basement (my brother's room) waiting for it to kick in (it would end up being a long night). Anyway, it was shortly after midnight, and there was absolutely nothing to watch on tv, but then I noticed futurama so I put that on (sounds like it was my "last option", but I really do like futurama). Anyway, I put the channel on, and practically as soon as I did Fry says something along the lines of "...and I'll help too, as soon as I'm done puking and hallucinating." I was in shock, and my brother who was sitting there sober was in equal shock. We couldn't believe our ears. It was one hell of a coincidence to kick off the night. I later looked up the line to make sure I hadn't heard it wrong, and surely enough, that was what he said. "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind" - Albert Einstein
"The Mighty One appears, the horizon shines. Atum appears on the smell of his censing, the Sunshine- god has risen in the sky, the Mansion of the pyramidion is in joy and all its inmates are assembled, a voice calls out within the shrine, shouting reverberates around the Netherworld." - Egyptian Book of the Dead
"Man fears time, but time fears the Pyramids" - 9th century Arab proverb

Futurama is far and above my favorite animated show. The new season has been phantastic!!! 10 million points to comedy central for reviving the greatest show ever! Hedonism bot is my most favorite character, but I gotta give it up for zoidberg in the new season he really stepped it up. Favorite episode is the one where bender becomes god. ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

I love futurama! In fact, I had a mushroom trip one time where I met an entity from hyperspace and had a conversation about God. Whether it was my own psyche or a strange coincedance, the conversation was very similar to the conversation Bender has with the god-galaxy in an episode who's name I can't remember. It was sort of like I would say 'So then god is actually like a self-reflecting mirror creating infinate copies of himself but he can't see the other copies right?' to which the entity would respond 'yeah, that's sort of right but not really'. It was so much like when Bender says to god 'or maybe your not god, but the remains of a satellite space probe that collided with god' to which the being responds 'that seems probable'. lol good times. All posts are from the fictional perspective of The Legendary Tek: the formless, hyperspace exploring apprentice to the mushroom god Teo. Tek, the lord of Eureeka's Castle, is the chosen one who has surfed the rainbow wave and who resides underneath the matter dome. All posts are fictitious in nature and are meant for entertainment purposes only.
