I was watching some rather recent (but not terribly new) set of documentaries on Egyptians which I think were from NatGeo, but not sure. Anyway one of the documentaries focused on the Egyptian's use of higher consciousness and whatnot. In the documentary they made reference to ayahuasca and similarities in "observations" documented by shamans in the Amazon and the Egyptians. I guess I felt particularly fascinated with a lot of what they had to say because on a handful of lucky occasions I've been priveledged (as I know others around here have been as well) to detailed visions of uncannily resembling Egyptian imagery. I've seen pyramids, pharaohs, Egyptian totems, eagle-headed entities, tomb-looking areas and scores of hieroglyphs, so the imagery just kinda resonates with me in everyday life.

Anyway, one of the things they emphasized was that in the times where Egypt was in matriarchy, these were the particularly "pure" spiritual times. Most people think that matriarchies are like patriarchies only with a women leader, but they've found that they rule with much more compassion, little war and are highly connected to the spiritual as opposed to the "fake" spiritual that the high priests struggling for power would sell because after all, there's not a lot of money to be made off of people not striving for money and material goods when they are in pursuit of higher, pure spirituality (sound familiar? Rolling eyes )

It got me thinking though. Many consider 2012 to not necessarily be Armageddon, but rather a shift in paradigms, a change of the times (as I know many of you are aware). I've been trying to stay as optimistic about this upcoming period as possible cause it seems like it might be one of those make or break periods in history. I noticed a glimmer of hope through this documentary though. 2012 (and particularly the end of 2012 marks this) is obviously also the year of re-election for the presidency in the US. If we can put a woman in the white house, that may be our greatest chance at survival and evolution as a species. The documentary pointed out how the world is always going through cycles of dark and light. I don't know about all of you, but I take a look at these past 2000 years and with all the death and european imperialism and the list goes on and on, I can only pray that this was one of those dark ages that we'll be coming out of, and not headed into something even more dark and twisted

The documentary also mentioned the blue lotus (a plant on my shelf that I've ignored for a couple months now) and its significance among the Egyptians. It seems that the blue lotus was the tool that they used to aid in achieving higher states of consciousness (very often adorning the walls of matriarchal structures). I still had a lot of blue lotus from when I bought it months ago to make changa with. I didn't much feel like making changa, so I just rolled a joint of blue lotus and loaded the GVG with spice. I wanted to see if perhaps by consuming the blue lotus, if that were a shortcut of sorts to Egyptian visions. Well, I don't know if it was the two hours of watching documentaries on Egyptians or the blue lotus, or a combination of both, but after I had finished the lotus joint, I took several hits from the GVG, and indeed I was greeted with Egyptian imagery. I got so distracted in my head in the process of taking my hits that even while I was taking my rips, I had no idea how many I had just taken.

The British female voice from the documentary was now narrating the thoughts in my head. I was watching the interaction between these grand Egyptian figures with your more "run-of-the-mill" DMT-entities. I got to enjoy some hyperspace audio that's been lacking for some time. Oh those great bleepy bloopy, crackling electronic sounds. In the documentary they pointed out how in Egyptian art, the foot that a person leads with or the outstretched hands they have were symbolic of specific ideas (I believed this played into gender as well - I think females lead with the left foot, sometimes have two left hands - left symbolizing the spiritual/consciousness hemisphere of the brain), and so it got me thinking that if I could become well-acquainted enough with the significance of certain fundamental symbolism in Egyptian art, if I could then try to apply and test out such symbolism on the Egyptian-themed aspects of hyperspace. Anyway, lemme know what you guys think, and you should definitely catch the documentary if you can. It's on Netflix if you guys have that. I'm gonna try to find the specific name ASAP, but I don't have access to it right now.

Documentary is a bit older than I thought. It's from 2005. It's called "The Pyramid Code" and it's the fourth installment in the series entitled "The Empowered Human" that deals with higher consciousness and whatnot that I briefly outlined above. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who's got some spare time on their hands.

It is interesting... was thinking about this the other day, how the two kinds of recognizable cultural imagery that surface in trips tend to be either Aztec or Egyptian. Sounds like a pretty cool documentary, may check it out!

So I entered "The Empowered Human" into the Netflix search and the first thing it comes up with is "The Human Centipede: First Sequence" - Wrong, so f'ing wrong. Polar opposite wrong.

I watched The Pyramid Code and thought there was some really fascinating info in the series. I would love to see more films like this. The old Egyptian that they interviewed really seemed to get the ancient info and how it has been lost and misinterpreted by modern archeologists and historians. I want to see a whole doc in this guy and his knowledge base!!! I think his name was ABD'EL HAKIM AWYAN.

I will not search out The Empowered Human series. Please post any similar great doc series like this and The Pyramid Code as I'm sure others would like to see these films as well.

Thanks

I can't remember the documentary off the top of my head, but I remember it was about a pharoahs tomb. In his coffin he had traces of old coca leaves which aren't native too africa unless I'm mistaken. I'm not sure how legit the show was as I never checked for a second reference.

The narrator hinted that this shows the egyptians had managed to travel to south america. Maybe the ancient egyptian symbolism came directly from there.

Though I have to say if I had access to ayahuasca I wouldn't choose to be buried with a coca plant. But I imagine I would need an energy boost when arriving in the spirit world and as I would already be there, ayahuasca would have little use.

Edit: Here's a little article, but it denies a solid conclusion. Much googling confirms only speculation:

Pretty interesting stuff. I look foward to checking out this series if i ever get some downtime. I've always seen acient egyptian art, hieroglyphs, and even some very real looking warriors inside bushes in most of my trips. I've wondered to myself that I thought most spice was a medicine from south america and was used by native shamans? So why so much Egyptian imagery? This stuff really intrests me, thanks for the post.

Peace
