I wish there was more background in the article, but it sounds pretty scary. I'm a little confused as to why they call it a "mind-control" drug though.

Someone who is in la la land from an overdose of Scopalamine could be coaxed to do things that they normally wouldn't. Their normal awareness is long gone. They refer to it as a mind control drug because it sounds scary. The truth is, there are no mind control drugs, there are only drugs that effect ones awareness to the point where one could be totally manipulated. It's sad to think about anyone ever dosing anyone with these alkaloids.

House is absolutely right- there is no true 'mind-control' drug as we would imagine that term to mean.even if there were, scopolamine (and allied tropanes) I dont think would fit the bill.

These compounds have no interest for me in terms of recreational use but a friend of mine did take too much of a Jimson Weed brew and ended up, with another friend who was physically and psychologically suffering, in hospital. My friend found the experience the most ridiculously hallucinatory he had ever experienced but from what he said the psychic effects were totally different from the substances we are fond of here at the Nexus. He described being able to summon whatever he chose into his 'reality' at will and he cited 2 examples. He felt hungry whilst sitting in his hospital bed and fancied a Mars bar and one appeared and he proceeded to eat it; he also had university exams looming and thought that some revision would be a good use of his time and lo and behold!-his textbook appeared and he got stuck into some revisionShocked Shocked .To be a fly on the wall would have been interesting.
I am paranoid of my brain. It thinks all the time, even when I'm asleep. My thoughts assail me. Murderous lechers they are. Thought is the assassin of thought. Like a man stabbing himself with one hand while the other hand tries to stop the blade. Like an explosion that destroys the detonator. I am paranoid of my brain. It makes me unsettled and ill at ease. Makes me chase my tail, freezes my eyes and shuts me down. Watches me. Eats my head. It destroys me.

they already tried this approach back in the 50's and 60's, with the much more potent tropane 3-quinuclidinyl benzilate...BZ.

it backfired

Reading the reports on BZ are pretty astounding. Also, the 50-gallon drum of LSD... a great book on it, Chemical Warfare by James S. Ketchum.

I watched a video on VBS about it years ago (tried to find it but couldn't, sorry). One victim interviewed said that he had permanent memory problems afterwards. Another victim was mourning his friends death from overdose when they were both continually drugged. Often it's offered to you as cocaine, it's not just put in food and drink, and an attacker said you can just blow it from the paper into your victim's face to get you under. Not sure if they can put it in cigarettes or not.

The ancients used to give it to a dead king's wives so that they would all march into the grave with him to be buried alive.
Everything I write is fictional roleplay. Obviously! End tribal genocide: www.survival-international.org Quick petitions for meaningful change: www.avaaz.org/en/
End prohibition: www.leap.cc www.tdpf.org.uk And "Feeling Good" by David D.Burns MD is a very useful book.

I've seen that VBS documentairy too Ohayoco. Dreadfull
The terrifying thing is they can blow it onto your skin and it will readily absorb into your skin.
And in the VBS video they said people laced cigarettes with it as well.

It seems to be fully active in doses between 3 and 5 miligrams(hard to tell because this info seems very hard to access for reasons I can understand)
and any dose exceeding that is likely to be lethal.

Appearantly a Hindu cult that worships Shiva and practices Human offering drugs their sacrifice-victims with Datura so they will be cooperative in their sacrifice.
Chilly huh?

What's the method for destroying these alkaloids (or any alkaloid generally) in a suspicious sample?

I am reviving this thread because I just saw a documentary about the abuse of Scopolamine in bogota colombia.

People are getting hurt and killed.
